I just started back after being out of college for 10 years! I am finishing up a sociology class this summer, then tackle Chemistry in the fall. Best of luck!!

I too am just starting out with my pre-reqs. I haven't been in school for years. I am two weeks into the summer quarter and so far it has been great. :)
You are brave diving back in with Chem for your very first class!

Congratulations and good luck! When I went back to school it was just weeks after my son was released from the NICU, and I had been out about 9 years. You can do it! This website is full of wonderfully supportive people and will cheer you on the whole way!

Hey Texican,
Good luck in school! I was out for 17 years when I decided to start school. It was tough, but it has been well worth it! I will start NS in August and can't wait! It seemed like it would take forever to get to this point, but time has just really flown by!
Again~

I too am going back after ten years!! I just enrolled for my pre-req classes and I will have a full load. I am forced to take chem because I had a 69 in high school chem and the school requires a 70!! If I would have only known how important that class was going to be for me!!!
I am taking three of my classes online. I have had some experience with them in the past and I really enjoy them. I do think it requires more work though. Any thoughts?
Good luck to all those starting out again!

Angela,
You are right, online classes do require more time, simply because you don't have the instructor teaching the material to you; you are learning it on your own. With that said, I have taken all my classes except Micro and Chemistry online. I love the online classes so much more, because I can learn better getting a visual view of it, instead of having someone telling me. I tend to take about 13-15 hours each semester, and have had no problems with my online classes. But...a warning: DO NOT GET BEHIND. It is almost impossible to catch back up.
