CONGRATULATIONS!!!:balloons:
How great that you got the NICU position. I heard that it is hard to get in as a new grad. I will try to do the same next year after I graduate. Go celebrate....

:balloons: Congratulations!:balloons:
I'm a pre-nursing student (2 more classes to go) and a preemie (born at about 29 weeks).
I hope to follow in your footsteps some day. Yay for you!

:balloons: Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:balloons: I still have until next Thursday before I am done and cannot wait. I am soo looking forward to a couple of weeks without having to do anything except NCLEX questions. I have soo much stuff going on right now that it feels like it will never slow down!!! lol I am so glad to hear that you are done and will start in the NICU so soon. Do you have to take boards before you start or after?

Congratulations to you!! I can just hear the excitement in your post! Have fun with graduation and all that goes along with that, it's an incredible time for sure. I wish you all the very best :)
Liz,
No, I do not have to test before I start. I just found out that it is best to plan to take the test around the end of June or first part of July. So, I arranged Kaplan to be the last two weeks of June with the hope of testing the first part of July. Yes, I am looking forward to only reviewing! WA HOO. I will probably take a couple days off to just reward myself, but I will be back to the questions by Thurs. Best wishes to you also.
Raindreamer,
How are things going for you? I see you are a new NICU nurse also. I thought I would start a post "What I learned in the NICU today" I think it might be a great support for those of us who are in our beg-early years. I saw a similiar threat in the ER nurse area. I think it might be a great help and a way that we can all learn from one another.
What do you guys think?

Congratulations! WooHoo! I hope I can be as lucky as you to land a NICU job right after graduation - that is my ultimate goal as well! Enjoy it and yes, please do start that thread, that would be great! Besides, I would love to hear how you guys are doing and what it's like to be new on the NICU floor. Best of luck in your new career - enjoy it! :)

Things are going pretty good. It's definitely overwhelming and stressful for me, but I'm enjoying it .... I'm learning so much each shift. I made a thread discussing some of my adventures so far, but haven't gotten much response ..... I don't think there's a lot of new people starting in the NICU right now, so it'll be nice to have you guys (the May/June grads) starting. I'll be looking forward to sharing experiences and support!
I think that's a great idea for a thread ...... we can learn so much from each other.
Congrats again!
I'll try to find that thread. I would be interested in reading it. I am so excited to start, but am going to try and enjoy my time off. Currently, I am reviewing and preparing for boards. It is so different to think that I am done with school. It is almost like I do not know what to do with myself. ha ha
I look forward to sharing experiences with you also. This is a great way to support one another. Have a great day!
