So my orientation is not until the end of July, and that is when I will find out what I need for school which begins the mid of August. Naturally, I am super excited and I cannot wait so I want to be over prepared. I am looking at getting some things early, such as the Saunders nclex review book, and some books written about how to prepare for nursing school. Any advice you all could give me for being a nursing student, or a male nursing student, or anything you suggest I should get would be really awesome! Thanks

Lucky you, you have an orientation date! Still waiting for news on mine. Lots of threads on here to help you out. I've learned so much from these forums. Is your program ADN or BSN?
ADN! I plan on going all the way to MSN though. Eventually getting my doctrine as well one day.
Awesome! I will get my BSN online after I am working as an ADN. There is good thread on here for the Class of 2015 and we also have a facebook page. We're gonna need all the support we can get.

Cut-and-pasted (with slight edits) from another thread:
Between now and orientation sleep as much as you can, party like a rock star, load up your Starbucks card, and don't do anything school-related unless you absolutely have to, i.e. start a vaccine series or start a background check. Once you start you'll be balls to the wall and happy happy fun times will drop from your list of priorities so take the chance now to goof off before it's time to bury your nose in textbooks...
Awesome! Thanks. What is the faccebook page?
If you go the thread, the one who made the facebook page is MommaTy (that's her allnurses ID). Send her a PM on allnurses and she will add you to the facebook page.
I just started on this site so I don't think I can send her a PM just yet.
OK go to the thread and post on there that you want her to add you to the facebbok page. She will most likely see it, she has little ones so she is busy but she will see it.:)
