Hello everybody,

I was recently accepted into nursing school. The issue I have is that I'm nervous about school.I read a lot of negative comments here and I don't know what to expect. I'm scared that I wont do well. School will begin for me next week. I'm pretty nervous guys! I don't know what to do. I'm I thinking too much???

just take it one step at a time, one day at a time, one test at a time. Remember everyone there is there to learn. you can do it.

Thank you Catz!!!

I don't think the nervousness and anxiety will ever go away, or it could just be me. Just relax and be yourself, the rest will come. Always remember in nursing school everything seems virtually impossible, but it is possible & there r people on this site to show that it is very possible. Good Luck

I absolutely LOVE nursing school, and the people in my classes. A strong support group is very helpful

I will be the first to admit that nursing school is the hardest thing I have ever done, but also the most fulfilling.

Remember, this is about YOU getting an education and becoming a safe and competent nurse. It will be what you make of it. Avoid the drama, gossip, and bad-mouthing. Stay healthy and focused. If you do not have a support network at home, and even if you do, find other students with common interests, lifestyles, and dedication. It may take a few months to get your feet planted and to feel confident, but you have made it this far! You can certainly do it!

Same here! Just take it one day at a time, don't forget to breathe, and enjoy the ride!

You can do it. I'm in my last year to get my RN. I must admit that I do use this site to vent my frustrations because other students understand. I also don't like talking about it with my other classmates due to fact that some of them go straight to the instructors with what we say. It is hard but if you have good study habits you can do it. I studied a lot last year and received all A's and B's and received my LPN. Good luck you can do it, don't let the negative comments bother you.

I am entering my last year as well and I still get nervous. NS is stressful. You are forced to learn a HUGE amount of information in such a small amount of time. I remember the first week I cried and was so stressed out, probably more than I have ever been in my entire life, but as things went along, it got a little better, not easier, but better. You will get the hang of things, develop a routine and find positive people, even if they are your family, if it weren't for my husband, I don't know what I'd do!

Another thing to remember is of course everyone complains about the hard work, the stress, the professors, etc, but there's all sorts of good things that outweigh the bad! I'm sure everyone here agrees, or else they wouldn't be in nursing school! For example, the other day I learned how to move/turn/bathe a patient - I'm a first year clinical student, and I was expecting myself to be uncomfortable with touching one of my classmates, but in actuality, it felt so natural and comfortable. Even though it was just pretend, I could really feel the rewards of what I am doing. And I'm just helping someone sit up! Imagine when I learn more. :)

Anyway, as long as you keep your mind on the goal - it totally becomes all worth it. Best wishes to you, keep us updated!
