Try looking online for local hospitals and call the HR department. I bet just about any medical facility in this area is in need of nurses. Beware, I've worked with nurses from the Northeast and I hope you realize what a pay difference you are going to experience with this change of location! I would suggest doing some research on that before you make that move.

Yeah, but the cost of living here is much lower. Well, I'm willing to bet that it is, anyway.
Thanks for the info, seems that Hospitals in some area's are not hiring LPN's, and I am experienced in the hospitals, med/surg, emergency dept.
It's going to be harder to find a job now.

Hardin Memorial in E-Town was hiring RNs in the ER/MS/Tele.....not sure if they use LPNs or not. BTW...Welcome to KY!:wink2:

I have just moved to the Mt Vernon area from DFW, and I am having a hard time finding a job also. I have been using career builder and monster to respond to jobs. I have filled out on-line applications and have gotten no response. I have experience in several areas. I am not sure what else to do. It's pretty scary when the bills keep rolling in and there's no pay check. There seem to be jobs for RN, but not a lot for LPN. I wish you the best of luck with your search!!
You might want to try going in person......handing in your application will put a face with it.......make yourself stand out....you know that great first impression! Good Luck :)

Lexington Professional Associates are looking for an LPN. Try career builders.com as it lets you specify general locale you are seeking employment in as LPN. Good Luck. Also, try the agency nurses or home health, you may find something there!
I work at Ephraim McDowell in Danville and we use a **LOT** of LPN's. That may be just a bit of a drive from Mt Vernon, but I work with a couple who drive to work from there. I think it might be about an hour.
To the OP: My sister in law is an LPN and I believe she has tried to get a job at Hardin Memorial and didn't have much luck either.
I sent my resume and also called Hardin Memorial and was told in so many words that the LPN's were being phased out.
