I have a month until boards and my weakest area is pharm. I will admit I am getting better with the help of Virtual ATI and reviewing. But things like side effects and medication interactions will not stick! Any suggestions on how to remember these? Should I give in and make some flash cards?? I would hate to fail boards on account of drugs or worst get on the floor and not know drugs!

Don't worry about being on the floor and not knowing your drugs--there will be drug books on the unit not to mention a pharmacy you can call!
I picked up the Mosby cards with the visual tricks to remembering meds and they seem to help. You could also check out MediGlyphics if you are visual--I think the pics and explanations there are better than what Mosby uses but they are not geared towards nursing so you may miss out on nursing considerations.

There is a book called Pharmacology success with tons of questions (by Ray A.Hargrove-Huttel) and Kaplan med cards are great!

If you don't have a lot of money for new resources, you can break open your pharm text from school. Another source for flashcards is: http://www.flashcardexchange.com.

My friend suggested to know category of meds. For example the meds that end with -pril is hypertensive. There's no way you can remember all the meds out there so just know your category and what they are for and you can go from there. And also do questions saunders q&a cd ahs lots of questions on meds.
