I'm having a negative moment. My recruiter (who also does the background checks for prospective employers) has gotten back three of the seven reference requests she sent out. So far they've been glowing. I know there's no reason to think I might not get this job but all of a sudden I'm really nervous. If I don't get it there is nothing else in this area I'm qualified for, because they all ask for advanced degrees or prior experience, and although there is an ER opening in the next county, I really don't want to go back to the ER if I can help it.
Somebody slap some sense into me, please!
Rub the other side now cause I just sent you a tap or two. You have a low self confidence right now because of what happened at that loser facility. If you had applied before what happened, you wouldn't be worried would ya??? No you wouldn't, so don't be so hard on yourself now.
Ain't KARMA great??????
Aww Tazzi,
From your posts you seen to be a put together RN, girl!!
(((((hugs))))) going your way. Is there any way you can take a temp. sabatical from life while you are waiting for results? Like how about checking yourself into a motel with some good movies and friends. Or when all else fails .....a box of chocolates?? Waiting is so hard!! I recently went through a small waiting process for my job and I was a nervous wreck so I hear you.. Good luck! Prayers!

Hey, Irish!
It's a home care position. I was trying for VNA but last week I got a cold call from a recruiter who got me an interview with a privately owned agency that is actually more attractive to me. That's the one I really want.
All the recruiter calls I'd gotten so far in response to my online resume were from travel companies who wanted me for ERs, but a) I can't travel with three kids and a husband who's afraid of the baby and b) I WANT OUTTA THE ER!!!

Everyone of your references is going to be wonderful!!! You are a great nurse that got boned by a facility that doesn't want to pay retirement.
I know that this is a tough time for you and the waiting is the worst. It's also going to be scary going into a new specialty.
You will be just fine. We all love you and they will too once they get to know you.
