After passing all my Nursing exams in 4 months, I am now FCCA and CPNE eligible. I have printed up this 500 page Excelsior CPNE guide. Where do I start? It is a lot of info, and I am so confused. I ordered Rob's DVd. and I do plan on attending a workshop. No date yet, but I need to get started. Any advice would be appreciated from the CPNE veterans.
I broke the study guide down into 2 separate binders. All my critical elements are in one binder, with dividers and an index in the front. I got the dividers at Staples. I read the darned thing a bunch of times and put my critical elements on note cards. I also make note cards about anything I thought I needed. I refer back to the carjack a lot and the index makes it easier. The other binder had any non-critical element info in it. I barely touch it anymore.
I suggest taking a workshop sooner rather than later. I waited too long. It makes a tremendous difference.

let me know how you did, my suggestion, do not take a workshop until you know the CE so that you are not frustrated, otherwise, you will feel overwhelmed.
You can have the DVD printed out into book form at one of the printing places for about $50. There is a payment plan available to pay for the CPNE, but remember you have to be all paid up before you can do that weekend. Just like everything else, check on the website for answers to questions and call them if you can't find something on the website. Good luck.
Awww thanks for your response, Im just now getting computer literate.... sad right? Lol, anyway I suppose i will find somewhere to print off that beast, nice to be soaked for 50 bux when we pay tuition.. they should send us the book as far as I am concerned. I assume everything will be in that as far as submitting things and paying for it etc?
No. The big book is only about the specifics of the test. Paying for it, etc., is on the website. You do the application online. At the end of the application they require a method of payment, credit card or debit card. That is the easiest way to do it. Or, you can sign up for the payment plan. I haven't dealt with this stuff for a very long time. Best to go on the website and/or call them to get the deal.
Ok I understand, I will call them at some point this week then and get all my facts about applying and paying, Im just plannong on finishing my last 2 tests before I get concerned and stressed out with cpne... I was thinking to just be all done and go into the cpne study process with only that left on the plate, any suggestions? And I really hear good things about Utica ny im a couple hrs away in Corning Ny.... How was ur cpne exp and where did you go?
Hi there Excelsior college LPN to RN students and graduates, I just have a question about the health differences courses amounting up to about 12 credits, is it true that lpns don't need to take them. Please somebody, help, thanks.
No, that is not true. The only exam that some LPNs are exempt from taking is Essentials of Nursing Care: Health Differences. Depends on how long you've been an LPN whether or not that one is waived.
