I need a boost, I am getting so tired

Published

i am taking my pre req courses for the nursing program right now and it's insane. its so much work. i study non-stop, i dream about heart models, and muscle tissues. i feel like i am going stir crazy. i am getting worried that i won't make it through all the classes. i am doing well in all my science courses, i love them.. maybe too much. i get excited when i walk past our mock emergency room; i beam at all the nursing students in their scrubs. i want so badly to be a nurse, i feel lame for feeling this way.

i guess i am looking for some encouragement. please help.

Prereq's seem like the hardest part of it all, don't stop, KEEP GOING, if you are tired, take a nap, but keep going, nursing school is so much fun and if you want it bad enough you will get there. You sound like you have the enthusiasm to become a nurse :yeah: so get those classes out of the way and find your light at the end of the tunnel. :nurse:

Pre reqs are the easy part, seriously. Nursing classes are twice as hard. I'm not trying to discourage you, that's just reality. You just have to work hard and keep pushing forward if nursing is what you really want to do. Good luck. You'll make it. If I can, you can too.

Hi,

I didn't find the nursing classes much harder than A&P for example but the stress of being in the program was rough. It will however be a very exciting time for you and just wait until you graduate and are actually a nurse!! I'm no spring chicken and felt pretty accomplished before doing this but I am still so proud of myself for becoming a nurse. Just hang in there.

Ooh, I don't know where you went to school but I missed the days of prereqs! I had a life outside of school before I started the actual nursing classes!

Keep your ultimate goal in view but it is really important to set mini-goals for yourself. For example, if you pass a very difficult class...you need to celebrate in a meaningful to you. I hope this meaningful way has nothing to do with school or nursing or illegal.....do something or buy yourself a treat that will enrich your spirit and set you up for the next goal. This is how I got through nursing school or any difficult task that I had to do. It works....try it!!!!!!

Oh enjoy these days of pre-req's. The nursing program gives a whole new meaning to hard work and no life! I have to say it was the hardest thing I've ever done, but the most satisfying and rewarding. This is a second career for me and I am thrilled that I chose nursing.

I once had a professor tell me (before I was accepted into the nursing program) to "get your life in order". It takes determination and sacrifices of all kinds, but I have not regretted it.:nurse::nurse:

Keep your chin up! I remember well the stress of pre-reqs. It's all or nothing at my school. All A's are mandatory to get into the program, BUT, once your in, the pressure really is better. Yes, it eats up your life, yes every waking hour will be devoted to school but their will be a lot of exiting things along the way and the friendships you will develop :nuke:will help you through. Besides, think of it as developing your study skills now so nursing school won't be a huge shock. Good luck!
