hi everyone. i am taking my teas test in less than 3 weeks and i am very nervous! i have been studying for probably 4 months now, but not everyday. :rolleyes:i was hoping i could get some advice from anyone who has taken the teas test already. maybe what you did to study or prepare mentally that really helped or what you wished you did. my school takes 12 people out of the 50 who are testing so i'm stressed!!! lol.
i have tons of random questions so sorry if they are all over the place....
-when you take the teas test online do you get your results at the end?
-which section would you suggest i study the most?
-is the teas test as easy as the online tests you can buy from ati?
-were there a lot of science questions using the terminology on 157-165 in the ati study guide?
-does the reading section have long passages (4 paragraphs or more) like the hobet did or does the reading section in the ati study guide give a good examples of what to expect?
i know i have many more questions that i can't think of right now so if you have any other info i would greatly appreciate it! thanks for your time! :)

-when you take the teas test online do you get your results at the end?yes, you should get them immediately after you finish.-which section would you suggest i study the most?i would say math followed by science. i suggest math because there aren't lot of complicated formulas, it's just the same basic algebra, etc. being used over and over. if you know how to multiply and divide without a calculator and can solve algebraic problems, it shouldn't be hard to pass the math. just remember to study the little things like metric conversion, percentages and how to find the area/volume of different shapes, and you'll do fine. the science portion is a little more difficult to study for because of the wide range of questions, but if you study the guide it shouldn't be too bad. other people have said that the mcgraw hill guide is very helpful as well.-is the teas test as easy as the online tests you can buy from ati?i thought the actual teas test was easier than the online quiz, i scored several points higher on the real thing than on the online practice tests. -were there a lot of science questions using the terminology on 157-165 in the ati study guide?i don't specifically remember seeing a lot of the terms from those pages and i didn't really study them, just looked them over once or twice. i am pretty good in science though so i knew most of them already. if a lot of them look unfamiliar to you, i would probably study them.-does the reading section have long passages (4 paragraphs or more) like the hobet did or does the reading section in the ati study guide give a good examples of what to expect? the guide given by ati has exactly what you should expect as far as the reading comprehension goes. i didn't study the reading at all (i just went through the guide and took the quiz in the book) and i got a 97%, it's the easiest part i think.i know i have many more questions that i can't think of right now so if you have any other info i would greatly appreciate it! thanks for your time! don't stress, just keep on studying and you'll do fine! :)

hey there !! i just took and passed mine yesterday !!! finally !! i took it the first time and scored a 74..my school needs a 75.....soo right after i took it the first time i typed up everything i could remmeber and studyed that ....i retook my test and PASSED with an 80!!!! heres what i typed up just hours after taking the test the first time:
ok this is fresh in my mind !! sooo i typed up some stuff to help me study for next time . so here are some pointers:
1. there was a couple of celcius to farenhiet temperture questions .
2 .i had a question with a triangle that asked me to find the measuremnt of the 3rd leg..a2+b2=C2
3. fraction to decimal questions and vise versa
4.ratios like it would ask someting like "5:10 is equal to "?
5. mean , median and mode! know how to find them
6.i had one question that was something like "billy had 45 dollers and he gave 60% of his money to his little brother than spent 20% on lunch how much does he have left?"
i think that litterly was the exact question lol
7.there was one of those simple interest questions . the formula is "i=prt" know that
8. I had a couple of fractions
9.if u have the ati study book, in the math section of the pretest, i had a question similar to #28 on there too
im still trying to remmeber what eles i had on there...but that stuff was from the math section
multiplication: where is the correct decimal place
mean, median, mode---know what theey mean and how to find them!!
KNOW THE METRIC SYSTEM!! THERE HAD TO HAVE BEEN LIKE 5 QUESTIONS ON THAT!
science: isotope?
brush up on senttnce structre
ohh..i remeber being questioned about the word "discipline" "maitanence"and "foreseeable"-- about there spelling
pg 206 of the ati book, the setup of that passage and the types of questions are very similar on the test .
pg 210 questions 40-47........you'll see questions like that one there
there was one question that asked me "which planet atmosphere is most smiliar to earth?"
choices were juipiter, venus, mars, pluto.........i put mars lol ?
another question from math was something like "john made 2549.00 one month then 5532.00 the next.. what percentage was his increase? "
also know about ratios!!
know when to use a semicolon, and a comma!
know about tectnoic plate bounderies and rocks..know the hydrolic cycle ...pg 156 of ati study guide
thanks everyone for the great advice!!! i feel like i have studied very thoroughly for the teas test (i already have gone through the study guide once and i'm now doing it again). last night i was looking over the reading section and took the practice test. are there any websites or other materials you have found that better helps with reading portion of the test? it almost seems like either you know it or not, ya know? i have seen a lot of posts that mentioned tectonic plates...which i need to brush up on! did you feel like there was enough time for each section?

I just got home from taking my teas test. They didn't have the results immediately, I had to wait two hours
to find out if I passed. I just checked and I did pass with a 76% which I am very happy about. I have been out of school for a long time and have studied intensely for the past month. The reading was just like the ATI Book. The science was very hard for me, I had to practically guess on all of the questions. I did this by eliminating the answers that I knew probably wasn't right and then choosing the one that I thought best matched the question.
The post above is very accurate as far as the questions, I think I had the same test as her. The one thing I wish I could have changed, was the time we had to finish each section. I found that on the Math part, I was rushing and didn't really have any spare time to check my answers. You might want to brush up on the amount of time you take to do the problems in the book. I scored 10% higher on the actual test, than on the practice test.
Hope this helps.

Hi , I took the test on the 3rd of March. I received an overall score of 84.6% , which isn't bad,, and now I am finally on the waitlist at Schoolcraft.
I stressed out myself and studied like crazy, but when it I got to take the test it wasn't as bad as I had imagined. The only part where I thought was hard was the science. Half the questions I guessed on. On my science test they focused on the rock cylce ,,,,like magma, sedimentary,,, tectonic plates,,,,also know what ionic bonds and covalent bonds are for chemistry, there was also some physics that I didn't understand , but to my surprise I scored a 73%on the Science test. In Math, there was a lot of adding, percentages, and metric conversions,, so know your metric system. Prepare your self for English,,, I say that just because it was right after the science test, and so by the time I got to it my brain was fried. I received my score right when I finished ,, so luckily for me I didn't have to go through the stress of waiting. I suggest to keep studying , have a good night's rest , eat a good meal and hopefully you'll pass. Don't stress your self out too much,, when you get the test it's not gonna be as bad as you think. GOOOD LUUCCKK Let us know how you did!!!!!!!!:)
