Hi all, just curious to know what happens if a nursing student
at a Maricopa Community college misses a lecture, lab or
clinical rotation for whatever reason?

The policy on absences should be spelled out in your student handbook.

You can find the policy in the hand book but clinical hours can't really be made up or rescheduled.
You must be there on time or you will be asked to leave and if you don't have the required amount of hours at the end of the semester you can not pass the class.
Lecture time is a little more relaxed but it really depends on the teachers.

I have found lecture to be the same as my pre-reqs. If people have to miss it for one reason or another, they work that out with the professor.
Clinicals on the other hand are non-negotiable. Even showing up late to clinical can cause you to not pass. And if you are scheduled to stay til 5 at night, you'll be there til 5 and will NOT be leaving early. They are very strict on clinical hours because that is state board overseen and they can get in big trouble for not completing those hours as stated.
I don't know anyone who has missed a clinical but our instructor said that in an extreme emergency if someone missed clinical they would have an assigned 15+page paper to write and would have to do it that week.
Thank you all.
Do they give choice about clinical hours or sites?
15+ page paper on what?

I'm with EMCC and our school does not give us a choice. My cohort had 4 clinical groups at 3 different sites, each group with a different day for clinicals. The advisor just stuck us In whatever group she felt like. So even though my family schedule would've worked so much better with one of the other clinical groups, I wasn't given an option and we just have to make it work.
However other schools, I believe GCC is this way and maybe some others, may open those slots up on a first come first served basis for the cohort to sign up with. So you may have the option but could still get stuck with something that doesn't work the best for you.
And I don't remember if she said what the paper would be on or not, I just make sure I get to clinical so I don't find out!
GCC always you to sign up, first come first serve kind of thing. However I believe my teacher this semester would have helped move us around if we needed too. Every teacher and school is different.

Missing lecture is no big deal, that's your own prerogative. You can miss a day in clinical if you're sick or there's an emergency but you must be excellent when it comes to skills, otherwise your clinical instructor may not pass you.
