I messed up my Hep B vax

I don't even know what I'm looking for here. I'm distraught. I thought, stupidly, that the Hep A and B Twinrix was a 3 month series, and had it all planned out to get the titers done for it and everything else together, 4 months from now. And now I only have 5 months until my first clinical. I am just sick about this, and so so disappointed in myself for not being more careful researching the requirements. I don't know if they'll let me start clinals with only 2 doses of twinrix, or if they'll even let me start with my cohort. I feel so stupid and I can't stop crying.

Try not to worry too much and check with your school. I too am starting clinicals but in January. My college will let us start as long as we have at least started the series and continue to get rest of them on time. The only way we are kicked out is if we miss one after starting the series. I only got my paperwork for it a couple of months ago, not giving any of us enough time to complete the series on time.

You have come a long way to get into your program, this is just a small hiccup that you can overcome. :)

Do you need the full series? We are not required to get a Heb B vaccine but I know of two other programs around here that only require that you have started it. You only need the first dose. What about the "rapid schedule", it's shown on their website here Twinrix® | Remember to complete the series Good Luck to you, I'm sure everything will work out fine :)

My school allows you to start as long as you've started the series. They then will require proof that you finished it, but they will work with you on the series type vaccinations. They will also give allowances for those who got the vaccine, but still had negative titers.

Just talk to your school. It might not be as bad as you think.

Gook luck!

Mine also allows you to start as long as you start the series, but hep b is also not mandatory at my school.

My Twinrix was a one month series (injection day 1, day 14 and day 30, IIRC) with a booster in one year. My BSN program had no problem with it. Also, for people doing the regular series, the school was okay with having 2 doses to start clinicals. CALL your school and find out their policy. Also look into the accelerated schedule. It wont hurt to start over and do that one, I don't think. A lot of travel vaccination clinics offer the accelerated. Good luck.

We had to have at least started it OR you could sign a waiver to be exempt from getting the vaccine. Good luck!

We were allowed to start as long as the series itself was started and we got the rest of the series done on time and when expected. They do check that you continue them, so make sure you have them when you are supposed to!

I will definitely call them. I already have emails in asking about the accelerated schedule, but the school is closed until Weds. I would at least have my titers showing immunity (hopefully) even without that last booster. My fingers are crossed. Thanks for all the stories and support. This has been in my mind all day and I'm so nervous, and mad at myself for not paying closer attention.
