I don't know what to do with myself.

It's so weird being done with school for a while. I ordered next semesters books yesterday. I have read everything I have (pleasure reading) and need to find a new series that will capture my interests like my last 2 series did. Apparently we are in global warming but it's freaking snowing this minute outside. :| So I haven't been able to enjoy the weather since being done. I started deep cleaning but that doesn't seem very fun.

I keep refreshing this site and facebook hoping there is a new post LOL.

Man this sorta sucks!!!!

I am LOVING all this time again with my baby girl!!! She seriously cracks me up all the time with the crazy things she says. I love the toddler preschool years!!

Oh and I am anxiously waiting for my grade to go into the schools system to see my new GPA after getting the C in my freaking 9 credit med.surge class.

Maternity/Peds was 7 credits so hopefully the B will help bring it back up again!

Let's see. Today was my first day of summer break and I got my son's fish aquarium put together so we can go get fish this weekend (once I get the water stabilized), I went and had the break pads changed on my car and I planted the front planter outside.

I am planning on getting all of my chores done this first couple of weeks, putting a hammock in my "going to be beautiful by then" backyard and getting started on my next semester's books. I was planning on getting a job as an aide but I think that I'm going to sell Tupperware instead. That just seems like a fun, laid back type of thing. Plus, I am going to take my son to a TON of baseball games since we are in walking distance of the stadium. And have lots of backyard BBQs so we can watch the fireworks on Fri. nights from my house!

Also, anything written by Dean Koontz is perfect. He's kinda like Stephen King but his stories flow like water! It's easy to get caught up and not want to put the book down. Also, if you haven't read Harry Potter, the books are WAY better than the movies!!! Good luck and hope you get lots of stuff done!!!

Congrats on being done with another semester. If I were you, I would park my rear end into a comfy chair with the remote and dont move lol!:p

I hear you. Last final was yesterday and I know I am weird, but I got tearful when I came home, cleaned out my backpack, put up my books. I don't WANT the summer off. I was that happy in nursing school. I realize most people don't feel that way, but I do.

The author of The Other Boleyn Girl writes some very good, historically embellished but rather accurate stuff and it is satisfyingly filthy. I also recommend Anne Rivers Siddons. Good stuff.

I am taking Lifespan in Maymester and then working the rest of the summer. I may have a nursing externship/PCT or secretary/PRN type position on the way from the hospital who gave me my scholarship. I would love that. I am actually quite blue not to be headed off to clinicals today. I plan to talk to folks in the semester ahead of me and get the areas of study or even a copy of the syllabus for next term so that I can start reading chapters ahead and focusing on NCLEX prep as well.

All that stuff is online at our site so I printed out the syllabus for this past semester for the classes I will have next semester to get a good idea LOL

I am off until I start the BSN program in Aug. I do start work June 1st though and have to study for NCLEX, so I got plenty to keep me busy!

Not bored here. Just unmotivated :D

I had 10 days off between OB/Peds and Medsurge 1. I started Medsurge on Monday. And I knew it was going to be a struggle to do work in it. I had no idea how much. I did do all of the reading for the next 3 lectures. And I did my own outline (courtesy of my medsurge NCLEX book- I'm hoping doing that will help in lecture.)

It's just that we have a LONG day tomorrow. And now Monday's going to be a LONG day. I was supposed to go to clinical orientation today. BUT- our clinical instructor's teaching another class. And I found out through another classmate that we're going on Monday. (she asked the woman who's in charge of clinical assignments what was up). And what annoys me the most is that there is NO EMAIL, NO NOTICE ON BLACKBOARD. And there was supposedly one this morning.

I only have class for 8 weeks. Then we have the rest of the summer (until August) off. I don't like the fact that this class is broken in 2- but I think I'm going to seriously need those few weeks to "recharge".

Ours was broken up like that, a lot of us though didn't like how they handled the transition. We had Med/Surge the first half of the second semester. We started the OB/Peds class the day we had our Med/Surge Final. So Final started at 7:45 in the morning and lecture for the next class started right after and went through 4 o'clock. No one new their grades until after school. So, so many of us had to try and focus that whole day for lecture (our first exam would be 3 days later) not knowing if we would even be able to stay in the class. It is my biggest complaint of anything my school has done. It just shouldn't have happened that way. As it happened we did end up losing 6 or 7 people. (I was 1 point from being one of them). I know one girl was so excited after that first day of the Peds and OB and it even made a lot of us want another baby LOL (good thing I have permanent Birth Control), anyway, so after her Med/Surge having that class got her all excited and than she found out she didn't pass. Very crappy. It should have been we do our final. Get our grades and the new class started the next day.

I hear ya!!! I have 6 weeks off before I have to go back for 2 summer mini-courses.

I did start a patient tech job 2 months ago so I'm trying to work 2 nights per week but I'm really, really hating this job. I can't really quit because I just heard that the May 2010 grads that got jobs were the ones that had tech jobs for the past year. I guess I better keep this job!

I'm taking this week off from any thought of school but I am going to try to buy some textbooks from a grad and get started on my reading.

As far as pleasure reading goes, have you read any books by Jennifer Weiner? She wrote Good In Bed, In Her Shoes, Goodnight Nobody, etc. She is kind of chick-lit but her books are smart and witty and are great reads.

If you are looking for a HILARIOUS series to read, Janet Evanovich is loads of fun. She writes about a bumbling female bounty hunter that cannot stay out of trouble. The series starts with One For The Money and goes up to 15 or maybe even 16 now. It is best to read them in order but not 100% necessary.

I'm an avid reader, or at least i was, and I have a list of 4 or 5 other writers I just love but they aren't for everyone. If you want some Southern humor let me know and I'll send those along too.

I do hope everyone takes some ME time during this downtime. Go get a pedicure, a massage, have lunch out with friends you haven't seen all semester! Take care of YOU!!

I took me time all during the school year LOL I will for sure have it during the summer. But I am looking forward to seeing a few friends I haven't seen as much and I am going on a road trip soon. I have a friend that is sending me the Janet Evanovich books. She has been bugging me to read them forever. I just read the newest sookie stachouse book. I was never into sci fi, or romance books but I really did enjoy the Twilight Series and the Sookie Stackhouse series. I dug my heels in the ground with "that twilight crap" until last June and then I caved. LOL I always have to read the books in order. I would love to here the Southern Humor ones.

The HP books aren't my types of books at all, I did take the kids to see the movies and they weren't to bad but I tried to read one of the books and couldn't do it. I will have to try DK. I used to love SK but haven't liked a lot of his newer work. I just read bag of bones last summer and it was just so slow and hard to keep up with.

There was a series that I only read 2 of that I need to find the first and start that I really liked. It was the Kay Scharpetta?? Series. I can't remember the author but she was a profiler or medical examiner or something like that. I remember liking the book when I read it years and years ago.

Congrats on being done with another semester. If I were you, I would park my rear end into a comfy chair with the remote and dont move lol!:p

This is what I have been doing but my butt is starting to get sore LOL. I can't wait for the sun and warmth come back again so I can go outside and read out on the trampoline with my ipod playing in the background and soak up some color!
