I am not aware of anything that I have overlooked. However, I am in the same boat with you regarding trying to pass math. I took 4 years of algebra in high school, but never learned enough to place into college algebra. Therefore, I either must take three remedial math classes before being permitted into CA, or attempt to CLEP out of CA. Since I do not yet possess the foundation for CA, I might have to take the remedial classes, which will add significant time onto my goals of obtaining the RN license.
I currently have a 3.87 grade point average spread over 31 college credits, but I have not completed any of my math requirements. Just be aware that everything happens for a reason. Good luck!

honey don't you feel bad about this math mess. i have been trying to pass college algebra since 1994..took 27 hours of remedial courses and 5 attempts and passing algebra and by the grace of god i finally made a c in the spring semester....i could have been a rn a long time ago but because of the mandatory tasp & thea bs that you must endure while trying to seek a higher education in texas, i was delayed...just to satisfy a standardized test.... i did overlook one thing i could have went to ec 10 years ago and by-passed all this other math/testing mess and been a rn years ago.....

I ended up getting a tutor for algebra and was glad I did. Med calculations require algebra.
have you read the catalog for your school? It should outline all the requirements

So how much math do nurses use on a daily basis? I am just starting back to school after 15 years and I was always weak in math. I look back and regret all the times I "skipped" math in high school. Live and Learn I guess.
There is the potential of having to do a math problem with each and every medication administration. Your school may offer free tutors. Or a classmate may trade out tutoring for a service you can provide. It is better to learn it than wish you had. Also, get a math/med book and start practicing. I bet you are better than you know!

I didn't know I could get school paid for before I took out these stupid loans. I also "overlooked" the fact that my soon to be ex-husband is an idiot, but that's another story.
What happened is i called my cc and was told i have to have such and such requirements for admission into the RN course so i started on my pre-reqs.They declined to tell me there was an easier way guess they don't want everyone cutting corners.Well this short cut was discovered by the students who after doing the course were immediately accepted. It isn't fair since they don't have any other pre-reqs and get accepted and i get turned down because i'm 1 short?Just don't get it?

I'm in the same boat, as far as idiot soon to be ex-husbands are concerned. Oh well, I got two great kids out of the deal so it wasn't a complete waste of time!
