I feel like burning most the LVN review books I bought as they did me no good what-so-ever on the NCLEX. The questions I got came out of left field. Stuff that wasn't taught in school like post mordum care for jewish men and questions about the Buhdist faith. I couldn't believe the questions I got. It felt like I guessed at half the questions. What a terrible feeling I have now. I have went threw the ENTIRE Saunders LNV review book and cd TWICE, that's 6,000 questions, as well as the kaplan review book, "lvn made easy", and the mosby cd. Total review questions and rationales done exceeded 8,000. Yet it didn't help me at all. Yes I read the rationales for ALL the questions/ answers. The NCSBN.ORG review was the only thing that helped me as the questions were similar to the NCLEX.
The VAST majority of question were priority questions. I had learned all the tricks to answer these in the Kaplan book. Only one big problem....the priority questions in kaplan are a complete joke (very easy) compared to the actual NCLEX ones which were brutal.
My computer shut off at 85 and I am positive I got the 85th question wrong because I looked it up when I got home. I hear if the computer stops at 85 and you miss the last question ...you most likely failed if you weren't doing so hot. I wanted to throw up when I left the testing center.
So hear I sit and have to wait 3 weeks to get result in CA. I will start checking the LVN board website next week, but I have a bad feeling my name won't be up there and I will have to take the NCLEX again.
oh! thank you very much! I feel a little bit relief now. But waitin for the result for a whole month I dont thik that is fair with all these anxieties and anorexia and even insomnia that I experienced. The wait is too long, I dont know if I'll start reading again for in case that I failed or just leave everything hang in there...huhuhu! But thank you guys, Im really thankful for this website that I could share my feelings right now.
I really wish for my goodluck!
I am also in San Jose California, and still waiting on my results. I took the NCLEX on 1-22 and I am going crazy because I should already now my results!! I heard that the BON is working on 1-21 but that was a holiday, soo does the BON only tell you the week that they are working on instead of the actual day?

Hi, I would assume for the week, if 1-21 was a holiday. I took my test on 2-1. I live in North Cali and it's driving me crazy having to wait 4 weeks. Hopefully you'll be hearing something this week. Goodluck and Let us know when you get your result.

Thanks wannabeenurse1, I wish you the best of luck also, as soon as I know so will everyone on "All Nurses". Thanks to all of you who post and encourage each other, it's amazing how reading the words of other's can lift spirits and calm nerves, even when those words are not directly said or written to you. Keep up the good work! Good luck to everyone waiting on NCLEX results and congrats to all those passers. cali~mom
I just wanted everyone to know that a girl in my class was asked 205 questions and passed. She was really worried and I was with her. I have never heard of anyone getting the max., but she did and she passed. I thought for sure being asked the max. amount of questions equaled failure- but, apparently it doesn't. Just goes to show you how truly complex this testing system is.
Helloooo fellow nursing students! I was reading all your posts and found them very comforting. I thought i would join the "society of the NCLEX aftermath". My story is very unoriginal im afraid. Did about 4000 review questions from Saunders, Lippencotts, and ATI. Also read the entire ATI pharmacology book from front to back. Took the NCLEX, and it was mostly guesswork... Shut off at 85 questions. From the posts i see that 85 USUALLY means pass. Of course no number of questions is a definite pass. I looked up some of my answers after the test and realized that i got more right than i thought. Got a few confirmed wrong however...
Did anyone get some "easy" questions? I got one near the end, and it was totally obvious. My test certainly did not get easier as i went along though, but i wouldnt say it got harder either.

The number of questions you get on the NCLEX does not reflect a pass or fail...GOOD LUCK!
