  1. How funny...I just posted a topic titled "CCNE vs. NLNAC"...In that post, someone responded to me that it depends what your educational goals are...For instance, some MSN programs require the accredidation from NLNAC...But then again I don't see how that fits since most BSN programs are accredited by CCNE...Anyway, I was just curious to know why some programs were accredited by one and not both...Thank you for everyone here at allnurses =)
  2. Hi Tweety Thank you for your response. I have thought about going for my MSN afterwards. The school that I am getting my BSN from also offers an MSN program so I can feel good about that too then huh?? =)
  3. Hi everyone, I was just wondering what the difference is if a school is accredited by the CCNE or by the NLNAC. I did some research of schools in my area and some are accredited by one or the other but not both. The LVN-BSN Online program that I will be starting in the Fall is accredited by my states BRN and by the CCNE. Does it really make a difference? Or it only really matters if the school is accredited by your state's BRN? Thank you in advance!
  4. Hello, I'm from Northern California. I just graduated in Dec 2007 and got my first job at a Sub Acute Pediatric Facility. I've been working there for about 2 months now. The base pay for new grad LVN's at my facility is $23.75. You get 9% shift differential for working PM shift (my shift) and 12% for working NOC shift.
  5. Hello fellow Nurses! I am a new LVN grad with just about 2 months experience working at a Subacute Pediatric facility. I wanted to get some feedback regarding "Online" LVN-BSN programs. For those of you who have that experience online...please share...Reason being is that I got accepted into an "Online" LVN-BSN program at Chico State University. I would start in Fall 2008 if I accept. A friend of mine who graduated with me from my VN Program also got accepted so we'd have eachother as study buddies throughout the program. I want to get feedback and other ppl's opinions because I want to make sure I am making the right decision. What was your experience going through an LVN-BSN program online? Or what is your opinion on "online" lvn-bsn programming? Thank you in advance!!! I have to let the director of nursing know by May 17th of my decision.
  6. Is anyone currently an LVN and getting their BSN online? I got accepted into an Online LVN-BSN program at Chico State University. Before I make any decisions to accept into the program...I wanted to get feedback from students who are currently doing an LVN-BSN online...
  7. Hello, I'm an LVN who just started working. I got accepted into an "Online" LVN-BSN Program at Chico State University and start in Fall 2008. I'm leaning towards it. I've applied to other lvn-rn programs in the area that are not online and those programs are associate degree programs but if I got into a BSN program...I thought to myself...why not?? A friend of mine who graduated with me from the LVN program also got accepted so we'll have eachother for support and have eachother as study buddies. What do you guys think of an "online" lvn-bsn program???
  8. Hello, I just got accepted into an "ONLINE" LVN-BSN Program at Chico State University. What do you guys think?
  9. THANK YOU GRIVESTERLVN!!!!!!!! Everyone has been so nice and very supportive. I totally appreciate it!!!! And my envelope was a 8x10 and white...it was exactly as Grievsterlvn said it would look like...I tore that thing up straight down the middle (being careful not to rip my letter of course)!
  10. THANKS! You're very sweet and thoughtful. I had 85 questions.
  11. THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO WAS THERE TO SUPPORT ME DURING THIS LOOOONG WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HIGH FIVE TO LVN'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Are you serious??? Where in CA did you take it??? I took mine in San Jose. I have no idea why yours is delayed. My friend took hers on the 14th, a day before me, and she hasn't gotten her results either but I think it's because she had some problems about address change and name change. Did they tell you why yours was barely mailed out today?
  13. I took the NCLEX on feb 15th in CA and I got my results in the mail today...I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't beleive I'm a nurse!!!!!
  14. Yeah I took mine on the 15th. My mail comes at about 10:45am...and nope...didn't come today either....I'm tired of waiting...I don't even care what the results are anymore...JUST KIDDING...I take that back...Hopefully it will come Monday...sigh... I can definately get letters from my clinical instructors...they're just sooo busy...Is it really that hard to get a job as a new grad? I thought California had a shortage of Nurses...Where was your friend applying? Hospitals or care homes? I don't mind starting off anywhere...I prefer a hospital but anywhere will be great...Are you going for your RN/BSN?
  15. My friends who took the NCLEX the same week as me doesn't think it will be in the mail today...I kinda have that feeling too...But my mail hasn't come yet so I'm sitting and waiting...I guess I'll put in my application to the VA next week...Actually, they have my application and resume already in HR ('cause supposedly I am hired for this STEP program...don't know if you've heard but it's a studnet employment program...but yeah supposedly i'm hired and the lady who hired me says that it takes a month to process everything so until paperwork gets done then she'll know when I can start...it's been like 2 weeks and I haven't heard from her...)...Good luck on the job hunt! And yes...we're all very emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially drained....aye aye aye...
