I have hit a brick wall!

Published

So it's happened. 4 weeks in and I have hit a brick wall.

I am angry. Really angry. I paid to take A&P and Micro already, and the fact that I have to spend SO much time on these tedious labs and I have not been given a logical explanation as to WHY is really upsetting me. So much so that I don't want to do ANY school work for WGU right now at all. Had I been given a logical and reasonable explanation as to why I am having to repeat these classes, I would be merrily rolling along still. Instead I am sitting and stewing in anger and frustration because I feel that I am being "punished" but have no idea what I have done wrong!

I have called, emailed, and tried to find out what the reason is behind this, but to no avail. I get "our accreditation is dependent upon it" but with no links to sites or other information stating this. When I pushed about the WHY and how Excelsior has done this for years, I get no response.

So now what? I was on a roll and I have completed 16 CU's already, but now I just want to throw my computer through a wall.

Can someone help Sweettart get her groove back?!

take a day to relax and do something that you like to do, restart working on your labs the next day. it will help to relieve some of the stress that you are feeling. Go ahead and give yourself the break that you deserve because*wine you have been going at a steady pace.

I've taken a break for 5 days now and each day I take off gets worse..... :(

is it these specific course a &p that you are doing now? if so maybe you need to switch it up and do a different course. I think you are burned out...

I wish I had the magic " get your groove back" medicine, but I don't. I would be upset too. It doesn't make sense to me why an RN has to go back and take A&P. It doesn't sound like you are going to change the requirement to take these courses, so just try to power through them the best you can. Of course this is easy for me to say, as I have not started yet, and I'm sure that brick wall is waiting for me too....

Bittersweet post in that I had been having second thoughts for telling WGU to forget it! I don't now....reading your post simply re-ignited all the frustrations that I had with them and they had the audacity to call my house today. I didn't even answer the phone. I couldn't buy a phone call from them about my eval and still haven't gotten one, but you see, yesterday was the deadline for the payment that I never would authorize to be released to them. So today, they call 3 times.....oh well!

I hope you get it together and get back on your roll!!!!!:yeah::yeah: Reaffirm my reason for being jealous of you!:yeah:

Keep your eyes on the prize ... much of this stuff can be filed under "necessary evil" once it is in the rearview mirror. Your best revenge? Finishing sooner and not paying them more! Bust through that wall, I know you can!

all I can say sweetart is to keep going, you did not come this far to let it/them beat you, you have the strength and the knowledge to do this, you did not get this far to just quit and i know it can be frustrating , myself and quite a few others are about to be in your shoes, don't give up we are supporting you even when you think we are not, i have read your posts as i'm sure others have too, you are my/our inspiration we are sending all of our prayers and encouragement to you, this battle can be won.:saint: We will continue to support you through this, as i said before in a previous post, DO NOT be afraid of failing, BE AFRAID of not trying. take some time for you and when you are ready to face this demon, face it head on and don't be afraid, you did not come all this way just to give up:no::no::no:

Please don't let this get to you or you might not reach your goal. They started in playing these silly games with me so here it is going on three years and I haven't even started the prelicensure program because I haven't finished the admissions process. They kept changing the rules of the game on me and I finally gave up. Probably won't continue with the process. So, am I going to get what I want by being frustrated with them? Don't make the same mistake! Take a couple of days off and do something pleasant for yourself. Then go back to it.

Many times i had the same feeling when i failed exams and had to repeat courses. I was thinking about giving up my dream of becoming a nurse. For me it was not Anatomy and Physiology but more scientific nuts Chemistry and Biochemistry. Thanks God i didn't give up and repeated the courses and passed them well. To tell you the truth to learn the courses second time was much easier and not intimidatating at all. At first i was frustated just like you. I lost time and money but i didn't give up and still pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse. Also i know those subjects that i repeated much better than any other. I can teach you Chemistry and Biochemistry with my eyes closed! :)

All i can tell you is DON'T GIVE UP! No matter what. If you have a dream try and try and try again to achieve it. Go and repeat and kill this Anatomy and Physiolgy and left it behind. And any other subject for that matter. Second time is even easier than the first. Your groove will come back after you passed the exam!

Ok everyone, thanks for the pep talk!

Tomorrow am I take my Microbiology exam via webcam, and I am going to pass it and move right along to the labs and get them DONE!!!!

I am prepared to do this now, and in all reality, I will have just 6 "classes" left to do after tomorrow and that's ALL that is between me and a Bachelor's Degree!

Sweettart has gotten her groove back! :)

Thank you all so very much.
