that Muslims can get out of the fine we get in the US for not having health insurance because "their religion says that it is gambling to have health insurance."
So can I become Muslim and not get fined for not having health insurance?
I like my current insurance plan, I have had it for 15 years. It is $10,000 deductible and it is only major medical. But I am concerned that in the future, HSA's will go by the wayside unless we get another president that likes HSAs.
Do you listen to a lot of those guys, do you?Who said it was a topic on a conservative talk show? All the OP said was they "heard it on the radio". For all we know, it was a ill-informed AM disc jockey team who had received the chain email, a caller who misspoke, Beck dispelling the rumor himself that the OP only heard part of, etc. There are many ways someone might have "heard this on the radio".
Your quote to another poster on another topic:
"No, pretty much this libertarian has a difficult time imaging what your points are beyond attempts to aggravate, inflame, and troll those you consider to be liberal."
Other then to aggravate and inflame, what was your point here in blaming conservative radio and insult those who listen to it?
Googling "Muslims exempt from healthcare law and radio show" produces a number of radio shows that have shared this myth, all are what could be described as some form of conservative leaning.

Then why don't you share those? I did as you said, and found two references to obscure radio shows from 2-3 years ago.

Yeah, I have listened to hours and hours of talk radio from Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, and Levin.
I am terribly familiar with the stuff they talk about and the way they talk about it.
I suggest it was conservative talk radio because it is right up their alley, so to speak, based upon hundreds of hours of listening time to those programs.
While this notion seems to have offended you in some way, it is my opinion and impression based upon my experience. How does this insult you or any other listener specifically or individually? Are you suggesting that the folks I mentioned don't state "untruths" as if they were factual, don't misstate facts to fit their agenda, don't mischaracterize facts or details to make their partisan political points, or don't smear people as individuals or groups to further their ideas?
The easy thing here is for the OP to indicate which programming included this misinformation about Muslims.
That is correct. We are talking about a chain email in this instance. I don't think any of the people you mentioned would present a chain email, that is easily proved to be incorrect, as fact. Are you suggesting that the folks I mentioned don't state "untruths" as if they were factual, don't misstate facts to fit their agenda, don't mischaracterize facts or details to make their partisan political points, or don't smear people as individuals or groups to further their ideas?

You may be talking about a chain email, but I was responding to the OP about something "heard on the radio".
I have no idea if Beck or Limbaugh or Hannity or Levin would participate in a chain email, but I know for fact that they state untruths as though they are true, that they misstate facts to fit their agendas, that they mischaracterize facts and details to make their own points and that they are not above smearing individuals or groups to further their own ideas, ideals, and philosophical arguments.
ARe you offended because I describe those folks in that manner or because I indicate that you cannot expect that conservative talk radio would provide factual or correct information about Muslims (or any number of other things that the hosts/stars might rant about)?

No, sorry. I was trying to make a point that if others can blame conservative talk shows for this misinformation, one could just as easily blame a progressive show. I didn't actually hear it anywhere but here.
