I hate being sick at Christmas

Ugh! I have been sick the last three days and have missed three days of work so far. Headache that keeps coming back, sore throat, neck and body aches, nausea, especially in the evening and at night, diarrhea, stuffy nose. Everything tastes awful. Plus my ears are stuffed up.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. Everyone at work including me has had our flu shots, but all of us are getting sick. Some have missed five or more days of work. All our residents are sick too or have been sick. Now my 23 year old said, "Mom, I now have what you have." My husband also said he doesn't feel well.

Looking forward to the day my family and I feel normal again. :o

I only have one day left then it's my two days off, I think I'll have to miss my fourth day tomorrow, because this stuff isn't in a hurry to go away.

I just needed someone to whine to. I think I better head to the bathroom. UGH!

You probably have the Fujian which isn't covered by the shot. I don't know if what I have is the flu or not, because I didn't bother going to the doc for a viral illness. Not much the docs can do for that except tell me what I already know - fluids, rest and fluids.

I have it too, and it seems to never go away! As soon as I feel better, it comes back. This one is N A S T Y!!!

My sympathies are with you.......I'm still coughing and wheezing myself, and I've missed 2 days of work now. I guess I'm lucky to have fallen ill THIS week, rather than next, because I've still got time to get better before Christmas. Sure has put a crimp in my plans for this week, though.......the fudge isn't made, what few presents I've bought so far aren't wrapped, and the house isn't clean---and I've got guests coming for the holidays!

Oh well, we can only do what we can do, and right now all we can do is rest and drink lots of fluids like we know we're supposed to.:)

I got sick on Monday and am just now starting to feel human again....I called off Tuesday and Wednesday and was off today.I called off for Friday-I hope I don't relapse-God forbid you miss your weekend rotation- I would hate to have to work next weekend to make it up...It has been really miserable...

I know my doc can't do much for this virus or whatever it is, but my work requires a sick note from the doctor if you miss more than two days. So, I made an appointment with my doctor, plus then I can get a regular prescription filled, at the same time.

Kinda feel like a little kid, getting permission to be sick and miss work. Even if you are an adult in some cases you still get treated like a little kid. Like they don't believe you.:rolleyes:

And yes, this stuff is nasty. . . Hope anyone who has this feels better soon!

Just had some OJ. I think it may actually stay down. Two tylenol, then back to bed.:zzzzz

I feel for you. My family is taking numerous drugs for the flue and/or respiratory illnesses.

It's horrible.

I can't wait until this mess dissipates.

Hi all,

I'm sorry to hear that so many of you are sick...yikes!! I had this weird thing the other night.....I got to work.....was there for an hour...and then instantly got extremely dizzy and nauseated. Luckily...the sup. found someone to come in for me.....I could barely drive home..I was so dizzy. Anyways...I promptly threw up when I got home...went to bed..and was fine the next day....weird. Knock on wood...the flu hasn't hit terribly bad in our area of Wisconsin yet....I'm sure it's coming though. I just heard on the news that a 10 year old girl died from the flu in LaCrosse..(really sad)....about three hours from where I am.....it's probably trudging up the freeway as we speak.. Yikes...scary stuff. Well...again..I hope everyone feels better really ,really soon.
