I want to be a nurse with all my heart, but I can't seem to get the hang of AP1 and I know that AP2 will be harder if I can't get AP1... The lecture is not the problem. If I study I know I will be fine with the lecture. Its the Lab!!! I have so much trouble remembering. Its like i just freeze up on the practicals. Can anybody help me with study tips. Also organizing notes. THANKS in ADVANCE!

I can sympathize with you... i had the same problem when i took it and then dropped it because of the instructor. But, when i took it again with a different instructor it was way better.
my advice to you is go over everything as much as possible. our instructor when over every nook and crany of the bones in a repeatative way that was awesome... it also helped to have a good lab partner to study with.

If you are allowed to...take pictuers of the models and whatnot. I did that then printed them out in color and studied off those. A little time consuming but it worked well for me.

Repetition is key. Take pics, spend extra time in the lab, take online quizzes, etc. Try to make up mnemonics if applicable.
Good luck.

Aye, you can find some good pictures and quizzes online. Spend as much extra time in the lab as you can, we always had students that would leave an hour before lab was up (they were allowed as long as they thought they were finished). The teacher would even give bonus points to those 2-3 that stayed until the period was actually finished. What I did to study was look at the pictures or the keys from the models, memorize all of the words in order from top to bottom and re-write them each about 20 times. I found a lot of my not being able to identify the part was all of the new words they introduce, the first step is to actually learn the words. Once you know the words top to bottom you just have to know where the parts are and you can just plug in your list like you're re-writing it from memory when test time comes. Also mnemonics always helped there are sure to be tons of good ones online :) Good luck! I used this in both a&p 1/2 and passed both with A's. It's time consuming but you have to be willing to put in the time to get the grade.

I think many of you are unaware of this..
They key is to not remember or memorize...
The goal is to LEARN!

My suggestion: Better lectures. Cal-Berkeley's Marion Diamond is hard to top.

First off, how far into the semester are you? What labs have you already done and/or what lab are you currently working on? I found the bone lab to be the hardest, though almost all of my classmates found it to be the easiest. I kind of got the hang of it (after the practical) but the best way to learn them is to start with one area of the body, learn it and move on to the next. The KEY is learning what the markings mean. (like a process prominent projection, or a crest prominent ridge) Once you know what these mean, you can identify them on different bones.
Histology- try to organize the different tissue using this chart. Once I had a handle of the different types of tissue and where they were categorized, I memorized all of them mostly from pictures of the slides. I found this to be a fairly easy lab.
The last lab we did was the eye, brain, ear, vertebra, & ribs. This by far was the easiest (and most fun) part of A/P lab. Again, organize them and learn them one at a time. Take pictures so you can quiz yourself. The brain and eye are a breeze. The ear (for us) was a model.. pretty easy. TAKE PICTURES and write what everything is on the back. Then you can quiz yourself.
It could be my teacher is awesome but I found the A/P lab to be a lot easier than my bio 1 & 2 labs.

fink is awesome!!!!
His cellular respiration videos are the best. I just wish he covered more topics.
Also great for basic Bio topics (which has considerable overlap with A&P)- George Wolfe:
