Last night in triage
everyone waiting 3 and 4 hours
all were upset
and getting red white and blues
along game a guy
a girl in tow
some blood seen in her beautifull blonde hair
and anger in his eyes
He yells through the window
shes bleeding shes bleeding
I take a quick look
small lac to scalp and no LOC noted
I say please sign in
and please take a seat
But she is bleeding he yells
I see that sir. please take a seat
he holds up his hand
and shows me his ring
yelling do you know
who I am
No sir I dont know you
Your ring is from Texas A and M
so your aggie
is that what you mean sir
Just then in through the front doors
Comes in the local police
seems the aggie
had broken several traffic laws
in getting to the ER
The officer says
well Tom
does this case warrant him
driving at 80 miles an hour
No I replied
thank you says the officer
to the aggie he says
Sir will you step over here please.
I go and fully triage and assess the young lady
I fell while" WE " were in the shower
how old are you young lady
Im 16 years old she replied
The officer hearing this
looks at the aggie
" Sir before you say anything else,
I need to read you your rights"
The aggie yells
as I am bandaging her head
"but her brains "
may be leaking out.
The officer takes
the aggie outside
I ask the young lady
May I call your parents
I need their consent to treat you
She talks to her parents
and hands me the phone
my ear gets blistered
but they are on their way
I get her to the back rapidly
so they can deal with her parents
As I lead her to a room
The officers cuff and stuff the aggie
She is 16
he is 26
seems to be a problem
here in the land of Texas
the Moral of the story
Damn I see another subpoena coming my way.
Some nights I really hate triage

Aw Tom...
Some nights you just gotta smile...
Think happy thoughts...
Like what happens to pedophiles in jail!
Your aggie will look lovely in orange...
just picture it...
See...that subpoena won't be so bad!
Ok...that was lame...
Subpoenas suck!
There, is that better?

Well Tom I can't compete with the verse,
Can only say, you've earned your gold star for today.
No matter what happens, subpeona atonement can't be worse!

Tom....just think of how you did what was best for your patient! I haven't been there so I don't have any good words of wisdom, but I think you are great for handling it so well!

at least you had some excitement! Was he someone famous in Aggieland???
Only Thing Famous about Aggies are the jokes about them
But they Take their little class rings and wear them proudly
Oh OK, I thought maybe it was a super bowl ring or something, it could have been Troy Aikman. LOLOLOLOL :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle
I had a patient not too long ago with the biggest old ring on his finger, and when I looked closer it was a World Series Ring!!! I was duly impressed, but he was a really nice guy......
