Hey guys im new to this forum! i just got into a nursing school in NM called Apollo college which is a brand new program and does not have NLNAC certification but they are seeking it and have already been approved by the NM state board of nursing. The thing is im not really sure what this means to me if I graduate from a school that does not yet have accreditation. if you guys have any info on this subject I would really appreciate it!

They probably wouldn't be seeking it if they had serious doubts on whether they would get it. Also, if they do eventially get it, it's retroactive so that all grads are considered graduates from an NLN approved school.
What other accrediations does the school have?

Apollo is accredited by the State in most places...but the problem is- THEIR SCHOOL credits/classes do not transfer to colleges like your state school or university, or community colleges, SO if you ever want to get a DEGREE, you would have to start ALL OVER!!! Plus they are CRAZY expensive....You should do some serious research about it first... The school is my area wanted about $30,000 compared to the CC charging about $5000.00 (for two year- not including pre-reqs)... GOOD LUCK!!
Thanks guys I really have alot to think about! They told me that they automatically transfer to credits to the university of phoenix RN to BSN program but I dont know how good thats gonna look on the resume! With the tuition increases at the university of NM I would end up paying the same amount of tuition for a BSN but I just dont have the GPA to get in! The things we all are willing to endure to become nurses!!!

Yeah. CNM is free, but it is a 2 and a half year waiting list as of now (as you probably know already). I heard that Apollo is also working on their own BSN program (and even a masters!).
I too wonder how that would look on a resume.
How do you like Apollo so far? I've heard mixed messages about them and I'm trying to decide between Apollo and Pima.
