I Got In!!!

So, I'm sitting at my desk at work yesterday, and at about 1:50 this new email pops up....I'm bored, I don't really pay attention to the title, and I open it up....

Dear Kimberly,

It is my very great pleasure to inform you that the Admissions

Committee has voted to admit you to our ABSN program at the Duke University

School of Nursing, pending completion of all prerequisites, to begin in

August 2006. You will soon receive a formal letter in the mail from

Admissions Committee Chair Cristina Hendrix, DNS, APRN-BC, GNP, FNP, which

will include full instructions on how to secure your place in the upcoming

class of students.

And I had to stop, because I was crying too much to read the rest!!

I can't believe it....I'M PRACTICALLY A NURSING STUDENT!!!

Thanks to ya'll - HHEEEEEAAAAAPPPPSSSS of thanks - no one else "gets" this like all of you do - you've been so supportive and I APPRECIATE it so much!

To all of those waiting for "the letter" - IT'S SO WORTH IT!!! Hang in there and DON'T GIVE UP!!!

I got my email from Duke too!! It's between that and another ABSN program in California (which is where I live), so maybe I'll see you in August!!

Are you a local? I wonder if a lot of students come from out of state to attend DUSON.

I'm a local - Duke is literally fifteen minutes from me. Out of the 56 accepted, you're the second out-of-towner I've heard from. Three of us in my Micro class got accepted and one of them is BARELY a local - she's even paying out of state tuition to take her prereqs at a community college. Sort of three of you, in a way! Give Shauna a call at the school and I'm sure she'd be able to answer your question right away.
