I am so excited. I had planned to go to a "Brick and Mortar" school near me...but something about Frontier kept calling to me...I am just drawn to that place. Anyway, I got my email today telling me that I am in for Class 61, which starts in June. I wrote back and asked if I could defer a couple of quarters (my daughter is having some health issues right now--hopefully nothing serious). Do any current Frontier students know if I can defer?
So, if I can defer, I plan to attend Frontier Bound in November. Very excited. I was accepted to the traditional CNEP program. Yeah! Anyone else planning to attend in November??
No, fortunately I didn't have to do the portfolio--I have a BSN. The portfolio does look a bit daunting...I have a friend who is working on it now. Good luck and hang in there!!
I am in unsure when I am starting and yes I did the portfolio it took me a week of head down every spare min but I guess I did ok as I got in the telephone interview was ok after we got over a few accent problems,:chuckle
hi there! congrats to those of you who have already started the program! I just received notice that i've been accepted for Class 62 - FB in August. I was wondering if anyone else around here will be there too!?!? Also, anyone have suggestions for preceptors in the Gainesville, FL (or north central fl) area? i'm hopeful to get some out-of-hospital experience as I hope to use my skills overseas (Latin America). Thanks for your thoughts!!

Hello Goozgog,
I too plan on obtaining my FNP after completing the CNM program. I was advised that it was better to do it this way because if you do it the other way around you're paying more to retake women's health related classes. As in the CNM goes more in depth so it would cover that portion of the FNP program. I do not not have L&D experience either but my passion is midwifery and I feel that it fully compensates. Plus I really dont plan on working in a Hospital setting.:)
