Can someone please help me! I'm awaiting my acceptance for September and am wondering is the tuition price a real thing? I don't work for a hospital that is affiliated with the program so what is the per credit hour price? I'm gonna be paying out of pocket and don't want to get my hopes up if it's something I can't pay for.
Thanks!

Where are you going to school at?? Head to the financial aid office... They'll give you the breakdown :) ivanna
It's the Ohio online RN-bsn program. They never give straight answers

It's for real! $155 per credit hour for Ohio residents; $157/credit hr for out of state. A really good deal. Good luck...it's no joke!

What you need to realize is that the 157 is based on a quarter hour price. OU is in the process of switching to semester hours. I have also not been able to get a firm per credit price, but have been advised that the total price is the same. So if the original price was 157 x 50 quarter hours = $7850, and now you have 29 Semester hours; the per semester hour price will be higher, but will still total $7850.
But, the tuition price is not the only thing to consider. The courses will still be 5 weeks, but based on the quarter to semester hour change, the actual credit for each course will increase. So, more demanding, but still reasonable.
I'm really nervous to start but if not now, when?! I hope I can handle the workload!! I haven't been in school for 15 years

Hi Bushrn75
Go ahead and start! This is my first quarter. I have taken 2 nursing classes and I haven't been in school for 35 years. It is a lot of work, but it is doable. The first course will make your head spin, did me. But hang in there and get support where ever you can. This board was a God-send for me. So far I have 2 A's. Yeah me.
Its always what you make of it. But, you have to believe that you can do it. Where are you from? It might be the time to form a support group. I am a positive thinker, you can be too......

I was nervous too. I had been out of school for 10 years and I worried if my brain could even think that way anymore. I have been doing fine and occasionally even enjoying some aspects. Things I have learned.
Time management is key and being able to make yourself get the assignments done with no one forcing you too. I liked doing the weeks work early so that if all He** broke loose in my life, I wasn't going to get behind.
I did one week at a time, I found that if I looked ahead too much, then it started getting overwhelming. Only look ahead if you are ready for that next step.
Make sure you do the work, sometimes the reading assignments are impossible but the more work you do, the better grade you will get.
Figure out what they want (by looking at the weekly tips, the QA board, the instructions and the rubric). Give them what they want, don't embelish, answer the questions hit the key topics and stop writing!
Ask questions of the TA and your fellow students. Use the QA board, and this site (allnurses) is amazing:yelclap:.
I am about half way though my degree, I work full time and have two small children. Yes the workload is hard but it is doable. Good Luck!

Per credit hour price is staying the same. The number of credits a class is may increase a credit or two. I already took the combined Transitions course which combines Ethics.. it was a 6 credit class. So you could end up paying an additional $157-$300 ish in a block, but only for the 3 classes they combined. Not all combined, and the others should stay the same. Only difference is you end up with 3 classes rather than 2 a semester. Which actually helps people receiving financial aid.
