I was fired!!!

Published

Well, I found out yesterday that I was fired. To make a long story short and without going into specifics, I've been sick and not able to afford going to the doctor (btw, after nearly 2 weeks of this mess, I finally feel like me again). So I called work to talk to a co-worker in the morning and that's when I found out that I had been terminated, no call from admin or anything. It was a shock at first, but it's ok. I absolutely hated that place, had to force myself to put on a smile and go to work, etc. I look at this as one door closing and a few more doors and windows opening up for me. I can't wait to see what happens next!!!

Glad to hear you are feeling better. As far as the work situation, it could very well be a blessing in disguise. Good Luck on your job search.

I agree, it sounds like a blessing, but you need to verify that you were indeed terminated. Don't take the word of another nurse, get it from someone official. Call HR or the NM and find out.

Thanks a bunch for the support and the advice. When I talked to my co-worker, she read off the schedule sheet "jnrsmommy is no longer an employee as of such and such date". I have put in calls to the head nurse who wrote the comment (who is the one who hires and fires) and to their boss. This was earlier this week and I have yet to get either one on the phone.

Call HR then. Or go down there and present yourself personally. It's not official until someone official notifies you of this.

Good luck in all you do. I'm glad you're feeling better. (Another argument for universal health care)

I'm disturbed that you can't afford to seek health care. What kind of profession is this when one of our own can't afford to get medical attention?:bluecry1:
