I feel so unprepared

Nursing Students NCLEX

I feel like the worst candidate ever. My exam is on the 01/11/2016. I feel so unprepared. I am foreign graduate nurse, I battled Cgfns exams throughout 2015 and now about to write my nclex. The problem is am heavily pregnant and about to pop any day now, I have a 2year old toddler who won't even let me read. And I seem to have forgotten all that I have read the past year. Reading has been a great challenge for me, due to the pregnancy. I came upon this site and said to myself OMG how am I ever pass this exam with all the success stories and I have not even done one third of what every one here seemed to be doing. Pls can anyone advice me on what to do before Monday cos am so nervous.

I would seriously consider postponing your exam until you feel ready. I have taken all kinds of programs and read all the study books. I even paid for the NSBN questions. I took the exam on 1/7 and by far, the UWorld questions were the best preparation for me. The rational for each question is excellent and I was able to make exams for myself that consisted of just priority questions. I felt comfortable during the test because the majority is priority and infection control. This isn't my first time taking the test, so I'll keep you updated :) My exam stopped at 75 questions. I wish I didn't pay for so many review books and programs. They worked well for a lot of people, but in the end, doing questions over and over while reading all rational (even with the questions you got correct) was the best preparation. Good Luck!

How was the exam bibay45? Did you pass? I'm also using UWorld right now for my review and love to hear its testing "miracles":x3:

Thanks a lot, I ended up doing the exam as planned. I managed to get my hand on the uworld Qbank. And practiced as much as I can. On the exam day I went feeling so unprepared. Well it was really a gruesome experience for me cos I was hoping the computer will shut down on the the 75th question. But I ended up doing the whole 265 questions and ended it 4 minutes before the time ran out. Everyone who started the exam with me finished theirs far long before me. I left there feeling stupid and defeated. Did I mention that I even started shedding tears cos at some point I became so exhausted and dizzy and everything on the screen appeared blurred. But I managed to finish the entire exam. I sobbed all the way back home in the taxi cos I felt so sure that I had failed. I thank God I didn't go into labor at the test center due to anxiety. I got home and tried the pvt and got the "good pop up". Long story short Checked the quick results this afternoon and I PASSED. I feel so happy and so lucky.

Moral Lesson of the day: do not attempt doing an important exam like this when you are 9months pregnant or even in your 2nd trimester.

Hi, my exam is next month. I work 4 to 5 days a week and on those days I work I only study at most 2 hours. On the weekends I study more. I also graduated dec. 2014 but never took the exam due to family problems, distractions and test anxiety. So you can see I have already forgotten a lot of information. I tried Saunders but it's too overwhelming for me to read the whole book. So, I was so happy when i found out about uworld. I love it and I learned so much using it. But for some reason I still don't feel prepared to take the test. I have a really hard time organizing my notes and have difficulty remembering some details (eg. Medications). I was wondering what is the best and efficient way of studying for the nclex. Should I take notes from uworld, read a review book while doing questions, or don't take notes at all (since i have little time to study) I have until Feb. 8. Thank you I appreciate all the feedbacks. And congrats to those who passed! 😊
