I feel as though ive already failed..

I had originally planned to go to be an LPN .. but things change and I decided to go to a local college to pursue a degree and now I am a sophomore at my local community college which has a great RN program and I am working toward getting all my pre-reqs done- this spring I will be taking my A and P II as well as lab .. however I did horrible in A and P I and lab. My advisor has told me as long as I do good on my HESI and I do better in my A and P II classes as well as micro bio this summer I should be ok .. But with making C's in A and P I.... I am not sure I have a future in nursing . Please tell me someone in here as done this poorly and still made it into nursing ? I am really debating on putting an application in with the respiratory therapy division as well .. just as a back up . Any one have any insight ? Pros or cons ? Or just general advice ? I am a mom of 4 all under 14 so this has been an experience for me already as i was a high school drop out you got my GED !

Can you repeat the class to raise your grade? There are people who get into various school's with a C, it is just not as easy. I would not get any more C's though or you will really be lowering your chances. Look on your school's website or the school catalog to see if repeat of classes with a previous C is allowed. Good luck.

I know if I go to another near by private college I am allowed a repeat but not at the current community college, granted the private college of course costs a larger sum than the community college. This is the lowest grade I have made which has already been a big disappointment to me. I went from straight A's to this and not to make excuses but I had a rough semester with not only a family member dying but a dear friend... It was just hard to focus. I am hoping the new year will bring about a clean slate and I can put the past behind me so I am able to focus. Hopefully with the good lord willing I will have seen the worst this past fall semester. I guess I just need to know that I am not wasting my time .. and that I still have a chance! I know if others have done it.. that surely with hard work and determination I can pull through and accomplish my goals .

I had a C in A&P1. I got pregnant with our second child and found out that she had a potentially fatal birth defect. I was so stressed out that my grade plummeted. I studied extra hard in A&P2 and Micro, pulling As in both. I applied for clinicals, was wait listed for one semester (which I used to take classes that I'll eventually need for my BSN), then accepted. I start in January. If I hadn't made it in this time, I planned on re-taking A&P1 this upcoming semester.
