I'm a third semester nursing student in my OB/PEDS rotation. I just had my first OB exam....and well...it was terrible. I'm pretty sure I failed. We reviewed the test afterward as a class and my incorrect count was out of control.
I absolutely hate the feeling of failing and starting a semester like this. It gives me flashbacks of when I failed out of nursing school my first time around. I cried then and I cried today too. I needed it. I refuse to let something like that happen again. I also hate the idea of signing a learning contract. I feel like crap because I don't want to fall into a hole again.
I'm evaluating what I can do differently to do better. I guess I'll cut down on working and work on time management. I just need to keep moving forward and not dwell. I just wanted to vent.
What do you folks do to cope when something doesn't go as well as you hoped?
I just ate two donuts and a meatball sandwich. I think it's almost time for ice cream. Lord help me through this crazy semester.

Ice cream always helps me, too!
Have you ever done yoga, tai chi, or meditation? I do all three, and they're GREAT for stress reduction. Even just two minutes of meditation after a stressful event can help you get your mind back under control. You can learn any of them for free on youtube. Find one you like and try it!
Keep your head up. I hope you pass your course!

On the bright side, the class average was a 70%. I feel a little better knowing that. I have tried yoga online...but I got bored. Haha I want to give it another try.

It's early days for this semester.... you've got plenty of time to take effective correction action and end up with a decent grade. You can do it.
