I failed health Differences today!

Published

I feel like such an idiot. I studied and studied. I read all the required chapters in the fundamentals book, took notes, bought Lisa Arends, reviewed my old nursing fundamentals course info and I failed. I am so confused. I knew all the info. I felt like the majority of the stuff that I studied was not on the exam. No questions regarding sleep patterns (NREM, REM), all the ostomy procedures and appliance maintanence, respiratory patterns (biots etc). I feel like I focused on the wrong stuff. There were several key words that I just did not know until I got home. How do I recover when I feel like such a failure. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you. :banghead::bluecry1:

Keep your eye on the prize (RN license). Don't let it get you down (I failed HD 2 and procrastinated for 2 months because of it). Did you take the practice test? It has been awhile since I took that test so I can't remember what resources I used. I know yahoo groups had some good info.

One of the good things about Excelsior is that you can retake the test. So go on to another test until your wait time is up and then take this one again. Make sure you take the practice tests if you didn't do that this time and good luck.

I failed 2 test (HD2 and Transitions to professional nursing). I just kept right on going and picked then up in the end. Its not a big deal if you press on. The best part of it is, the failing grade will not show up on you transcript if you take it over.

Specializes in E.R., post-surgical.

I also failed HD 2. It was a doozy!!!! Went on to other tests. Paid for the practice exam. studied that and re-took the test. I only made a "c", but as they say..... c=rn

I actually did take the practice exams. I studied the questions that I got wrong. I also thought that I would see some of those questions in the real exam. I probably saw about 5 that were the same. It's amazing to me that you study and study and come out with a D.. it really stinks!

I would say don't to study so much specific material. The exams are similar too the NCLEX. They test your understanding not what we can memorize. I would say study so that you comprehend the material not memorize it.
