Published

Hi this is the first time i've posted but I am freaking out about the boards. I take them on 6/23 and I'm sooo nervous.....I took kaplan and did below th borderline but now after its done I am at borderline passing but I still feel scared I don't know enough I've done some test and I get 51%, 52%, 51% 49% and the sencond time around I get 63 or 64 but its my second time. I bought a book called NCLEX EXAM CRAM and I've been reading that and doing questions and flash cards. But I still feel like I should be doing more.....Any suggestions??? Everyone I talk to has passed in like 75-80 questions I'm afraid I'll have 265.....I'm really bad at calculations and select all because I always leave one answer out are there alot of those on the exam?!?!? Please help I'm losing my mind worrying:crying2: :uhoh3:

You will be fine. I too took the Kaplan review and had similar scores. You are doing fine. You have prepared for this day and you will do fine. My advice is too try and relax when you are taking the exam. I just found out today that I passed. I really thought I had failed but you know? We prepared for this over the last few years and now its time to take your final test. I do recommend that you take the day off from studying just before your exam. I found that the day after I studied for 8+ hours I could not carry on a normal conversation because I could not remember things. It was odd but I think your brain does need to rest and recoop. So try and just focus on what you are doing.

Good Luck

Julie

I wish you all the best. I too had similar scores on kaplan, don't let that worry you. I took 110 questions on my boards and I passed my first time. You have been preparing for this for awhile now. You know this stuff, otherwise you wouldn't have made it this far. Continue to do your reviews, but be sure to give yourself some time to relax. As cliche as it sounds, don't stress out. Stressing will only add to your nerves. It was such a relief when the computer shut off for my boards, I didn't think I passed, but I just felt an overwhelming lifting of stress of my shoulders, I just started crying right there. I'm sure the test administrators thought i was a big dork, but the weight was just gone, no way else to describe it. I'm sure you will do fine. I'll keep you in my prayers. Take a deep breath. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

Hi Nicole...

I, too, am very nervous. I take NCLEX on 6/22 and haven't been scoring higher than 63% on Kaplan Trainer exams or NCSBN. My scores for Kaplan diagnostic said I was "borderline"

Just remember to relax. I find that when I'm being timed for the exams I rush through....take your time. You'll have 5 hours....it's all about you and the test...so this is your moment in the sun. :)

One thing that I did find helpful is the Mosby's CAT NCLEX Online version. I was really bummed about my scores , and started with the negative self talk. Their exam simulates the CAT way of exam taking, and it was actually "fun". :rotfl:

You should get a test ID right away in email. If not, give them a call and tell them you want it NOW!! :rotfl:

Good luck, and you'll do fine....repeat after me "I can. I will. I passed."

Just remember to breathe! Most of us know so much more than we realize.. and all this review really helps. I took my exam yesterday.. I only had one calculation (which was ridiculously easy.. probably not a good sign :stone ) but I did have a bunch of select all questions, which was really stressful. I always seem to forget one choice too!

You're going to pass and be an awesome nurse!

Nicole,

I understand how you feel. I've been studying two hours a day for the past two months and still feel as I could know more.... I've scheduled to test 6/17 and feel anxious. Worrying I decided to put in my pocket because it just gets in my way of comprehension. Also, I'm going to think of the NCLEX not as a test, but as an opportunity to make decisions regarding x amount of patients as an RN would do in theire daily shift.

Later, :p

No problem, msnicole418....thank goodness for this board, because that's how I discovered Mosby's CAT, and I REALLY needed the confidence booster too! I'm still scoring in the mid 60% on Kaplan. *sigh* Maybe I'll push my test date up a week just for some extra time.

Good luck to you!!! :)
