  1. NCLEX questions are in a world of their own...honestly. I would have to say that they're closets to Kaplan, NCSBN and Mosby's. No matter what the study material you decide to use, make sure you review the answers and rationale....you'll never know when a similar question will pop up on NCLEX...and it's nice to know the answer. :) Good luck to you!!!
  2. Well, I just checked quick results, and I PASSED!!! I can't believe it - I'm crying!! This board is amazing, and I've lived on here for the past few weeks - both reading and posting. I honestly owe you all so much for helping me through, and for giving advice. To all of you getting ready to take the NCLEX - YOU CAN DO IT!!! Have faith and believe in yourself!!! Have a wonderful weekend!!!!! :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:
  3. Congratulations!!!! You're going to make an amazing nurse!!! :balloons: :balloons:
  4. That's GREAT news!!! Congratulations!!!
  5. Sounds like you're doing everything you can to "study" for this exam. I took it yesterday - was doing questions consistently since June 4th. I took Kaplan - it helped a little with the priority and delegation. I did all of their trainer tests, did Mosby's CAT 4 times, did NCSBN.com and finished their questions...I think I did about 2,500 questions in 17 days. There was honestly no way to study for this...just know your lab values...and the basics about anithypertensives and assorted meds. Just keep doing the questions and practice tests. And when you're done, review the questions so you can see why you got it wrong - and what the correct answer was. I think that saved me yesterday. I had a question on a Mosby's CAT about Carafate and antacids dosing and time of admin. I got it wrong on Mosby's - looked at the right answer - and a question very similar showed up yesterday...and it was #75 and then it shut off!!! :) Best of luck to you....just keep a positive attitude when you go in there!! :) Pam
  6. Hi Chirstine!! Well, it shut off at 75...I have no idea how I did. I feel like I guessed on so many of them!! I had a lot of priority, some meds, NO math, and questions on Alzheimers and botulism...go figure. I'm just hoping that it shut off because I passed!! Anyway, the center in Worcester is on the 6th floor...easy to find. Be prepared to lock everything up in a locker....no watches, bracelts, etc. I do highly recommend the free earplugs they have there!!! The women are really nice who work there....you'll do fine!! Just keep doing, and doing, and doing, and doing the practice questions. There is no way to study for this. Know your lab values, because they may be included in a patient who is listed as a priority. Best of luck, and keep me posted!! Pam P.S. I sent you a PM --- did you get it?
  7. No problem, msnicole418....thank goodness for this board, because that's how I discovered Mosby's CAT, and I REALLY needed the confidence booster too! I'm still scoring in the mid 60% on Kaplan. *sigh* Maybe I'll push my test date up a week just for some extra time. Good luck to you!!! :)
  8. Lisa, Thanks for the heads-up!! I have a "good luck" outfit that I wore for all of my exams....lightweight sweats, t-shirt and sweatshirt...glad to hear that I won't be too hot. :chuckle Good luck to you!!!
  9. I'm taking NCLEX on the 22nd, and just finished the Kaplan classroom course today. I have test 6 and 7 left to go, and saving them for this weekend. Like, you I've been getting in the 60's....actually got a 55% and 59% on test 3 and 4....Test 5 I got a 63%. I've been doing Mosby's CAT and find the questions a bit easier, and I got a 94% chance of passing from that program after doing 75 questions. I'm hoping that Kaplan is harder than NCLEX. Good luck to you!!! :)
  10. Hi Deb, Thank you for the advice...trust me, I can use all of the advice and support I can get at this time!! :) I'm glad you found Mosby's CAT helpful...I'm going to do that again, along with the Kaplan Trainer test 6 and 7. Talk about an exciting weekend. :chuckle So, I'm going to go in there and show the big, bad NCLEX that I'm the boss!! Thanks again!!! Pam
  11. Hi... Thanks for the recommendation for learningext.com. Actually I did that one already....didnt' score above 70-75% on the random Q&A, but most were around 60-65%. How were your scores on their 'mini' exams? I scored a 67% on their pre-test. Congrats on passing with 75!! I hope that's me too. :)
  12. Hi Christine.... My sister-in-law went to Fitchburg State....said she didn't even study for her boards....guess she took a different test than we are. :chuckle Kaplan was good...some good strategies, just have to know when to apply them. I took it at WOrcester State because the class was too large for Belmont Street. That's so cool you're going to work at Memorial. I got an offer from Milford Regional, but it's a little far. How did you get your resume into Memorial? How was the hiring process? Anyway, hope you're having a great day! One of my friends is taking NCLEX on July 1st in WOrcester, too. Write back when you can. Pam
  13. COngratulations!!!! I hope I'll be celebrating with you next week!!!
  14. Hi Nicole... I, too, am very nervous. I take NCLEX on 6/22 and haven't been scoring higher than 63% on Kaplan Trainer exams or NCSBN. My scores for Kaplan diagnostic said I was "borderline" Just remember to relax. I find that when I'm being timed for the exams I rush through....take your time. You'll have 5 hours....it's all about you and the test...so this is your moment in the sun. :) One thing that I did find helpful is the Mosby's CAT NCLEX Online version. I was really bummed about my scores , and started with the negative self talk. Their exam simulates the CAT way of exam taking, and it was actually "fun". :rotfl: Here is the link http://us.elsevierhealth.com/product.jsp?isbn=0323032524 You should get a test ID right away in email. If not, give them a call and tell them you want it NOW!! :rotfl: Good luck, and you'll do fine....repeat after me "I can. I will. I passed." Pam
  15. Amy, LaVonne and Christine... Thank you so much for your moral support!!! :) Amy....I think I've done about 2,000 questions (maybe a little less). We do 75 questions per class in Kaplan, and then I come home and hammer myself with more. I've been doing the CD that came with Kaplan, as well as completed all of the practice tests on NCSBN.com. Now I have 2 more exams for Kaplan (about 500 total), and will keep doing Mosby's CAT RN online. Good luck to you on your NCLEX! LaVonne....Thank you, too for your insight to the Kaplan trainer scoring. Acually, I'm scoring around the 63% on the trainers...so I have less than 91% chance of passing. A little scarey. I'll be sending you good vibes on our day. Christine....I went to QCC for their ADN program. I heard Fitchburg State is really good.We are neighbors....maybe we should meet at the Borders on Rte 9 and have a little NCLEX book party. Good luck to you on July 1...I'm in Worcester on the 22nd. Enjoy your day everyone...I'm off to my last day in Kaplan today...the readiness test results are in. :uhoh21: Pam
