Took NCLEX today on July 1-got 75 questions!
Hi Christine, I understand what you're feeling as I felt the same way. 75 questions with lots of prioritization, prioritization, pioritization, and herbals.... I found out I passed exactly 48 hours after my NCLEX had started on Pearson Vue for the best 7.95 I've ever payed... I found out I passed on Father's day at 9:01 AM. Keep your chin up and it sounds like we had very similar tests. I even noticed at question #46 the difficulty increased and then doubled in difficulty each 5 or 6 questions thereafter.... I did well in school, studied hard and consistently, and prepared to the best of my ability. I believe you passed. It was hard because you above the minimum level... Later, Lisa PS check Peason Vue's results. 4th of July my have more of a celebration than you ever thought possible :-)

We lost a mom
Hi Laura, I just wanted to let you know I've questioned myself just as you have. Our next door neighbor had a L occipital aneurism 4 years ago and I still think about him. After hearing the same response and researching and reading the probable outcome in numerous books time has helped me to accept that there wasn't anything I could have done to change the outcome. I understand how hard it is. Please know you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Take a break from NCLEX studying! :)
Hey Happy ER RN, You're not a "slacker". I simply have analysis paralysis and overachiever syndrome. We each have to find the path that works for us. Congratulations on your marriage - that's important to nuture too. Balance makes a difference. Take care :)

NCLEX scoring
Suzanne, I passed at 75 questions. When I reflect on the test, the questions seemed to double in difficulty at about #46, and then continued to double in difficulty every 5-6 questions there after. It seems odd to me that NCLEX would be set so that the test taker would be making incorrect choices 50%. When you think about it in terms of patient care, it's frightening. Thanks for your input,

Take a break from NCLEX studying! :)
Christine, Good advice to take a break. I also stopped reviewing at 1:00 the day before I took the NCLEX, had a blast with my boys that afternoon and later in the evening I went for a hour massage. Well worth the money for the relaxation it brought for me. Allowed me to settle in, breath, and focus. Good luck, :)

I Passed Nclex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you waiting to test or waiting for results? Anything specific that you're wondering? I wore shoes (not sandles), pants and shirt. I found the test site chilly. It was a little unnerving for me to have to remove my watch and be finger printed at check in, entering and leaving the testing room. Thought a heads up on what to expect could be helpful. Most of all I really took my time answering questions. I took the LPN boards 5 years ago and when you entered your response, the computer would ask a second time if that was your choice and you would have to verify it. Now, that double check is not asked for. So, I read each question, answered it. Then I reread the question and verified on my own that I truly had choosen the best answer (according to me anyway).

National Council? prep course?
The way learningext.com starts is with a 150 pretest of which I had 111 correct (74%). I can see how my original post could have been misleading - thanks for the heads up:p. I found the NCLEX questions similar in style; however, I thought the difficulty was challenging. If I would have read the NCLEX canidate bullitin page 15 before taking the NCLEX I would have been more at ease. It states"The candidate's ability estimate is based upon both the percentage of items answered correctly (approximetely 50% in most cases) and the difficulty of the items that were administered." I felt confident during the test until, about question 46, then the difficulty seemed to double for me. Had I known about the 50% answered correctly I wouldn't have been so anxious as I was researching the "questionable" selections I had made and awaiting my results. Thanks for the congrats. Best of luck to you. If ya want any more info just let me know. Lis RN

National Council? prep course?
Hey Margaret, I used the on-line prep course that you mentioned and found it very, very beneficial and was a reasonable cost. I signed up for the 7 week class and studied 2 hours a day for 6 out of the seven weeks. I bounced back and forth from Lippencot, Saunders, Davis, and the web site for study material. I found the pretest, random test questions to be very beneficial on the web. I practiced the review questions as if it was the actual NCLEX and played particular attention to the rational behind each question when I reviewed the test. I read most of the content but there was a lot to look at. I scored 111 on the pretest and scheduled my NCLEX when I had accuracy of 80% on all other areas or higher. It worked for me. Passed at 75 questions, all of which were had. Hope this isn't Too Much Information (TMI) and that it is helpful. E-mail if you have any other questions. Lisa RN

Did I Really Pass???
What time did you take your boards on Weds? Yours should be coming up real soon. Let me know when ya find out.... You have a cheerleader wishing you well! Glad to hear they post even on the weekends... whewwww. Yes, I plan on paying the $7.95. It's interesting because when I left the testing center this morning I felt relieved to be done. My 75 questions seemed to get harder and harder and harder . Now the analysis paralysis has set in. Hey that could be a new dx: what do ya think my friend? Lis

Males as Nurses
Hey nurseguy, I just wanted you to know that if you're interested in nursing go for it! Nursing is a great profession and the male gender can be a benefit. I've seen many nurses advance in their career. Men in particular seem to be able to advance their career at a faster rate.

Did I Really Pass???
Hi miniNYnurse, Could you give me more information about the board of nursing site and Pearson Vue. Pearson Vue web site states "results delivered" but test results are not available. How long did it take for your results to show up on Pearson? Thanks, Lisa

Pins and needles - 75 questions
Thank you so much for your input and paving the way for us new grads and the information you've shared. I'm so respectful of those who have been advocates for change and thankful for having the opportunity to test on computer. As nursing students we took a practice NCLEX by Mosby's (I think it was 7 hours worth of testing and 6 weeks of waiting for results) Point well take Lisa Great attitude adjustment for me....
