Glad you are back. I'm not a CRNA but always welcome your information and have always found you to be a very credible source.
I do have to add in an aside that I took care of a pt the other day in the ER who's wife was a CRNA and had been one for 30 years. She was so interesting to talk to - the changes that she has seen in the profession as well as the progress that has been made in anesthesia care. She was a truly remarkable woman.
Yoga,
I thank you Yoga for deciding to come back for the benefit of us all. I don't post much because I have not started school yet. I start the Army's program this June. Early on I decided that I would keep my mouth shut until I get out of school and get some experience under my belt before preaching stuff as if it's gospel. Ya know the old saying, "it's better to be thought a fool than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt." Sorry I digressed. Anyways, you along with many of the other experienced anesthesia providers (CRNA's,AA's, Doc's) who post here have contributed to my knowledge base immeasureably. It's hard to teach 46 years of experience to students in a 30 month program if you get my drift. I only wish that some of the other regular posters, who have stopped posting in the last year, with good things to teach and share would come back. Thanks for coming back Yoga
Yoga I'm stoked that you have come back.
We all gladly welcome your return.
I think it's such a hoot, I've got to give a shout-out :w00t:
Makes me so happy, I think I'll
Sorry for the crappy one-liners, but that was all the cool smilies I could find from the list. Seriously, welcome back.

I'm back!!.
As you know, I was upset about the multitude of posts with the lethal combination of ignorance and arrogance. For several weeks, I didn't read All-Nurses, but decided to check in this evening. I guess I just can't let those people win and decided to come back for the fight.
I want to thank all of you for the personal messages. It helped me make the decision to hang in for awhile longer. There are so many of you with such a desire to learn and to share your experience that I must say I really missed you. Also, I really want to see Mike become a CRNA, Maybe then I will retire.
Much of my angst came from the tread about using local before starting IVs and it was not from those of us in anesthesia, including students and our token AA member (got to love you JWK). It was what is, in my observations, what is wrong with nursing (non-anesthesia) today. Lots of opinions that are not evidence or experience based, not reflected in the literature or in valid studies, just opinions. In fact, some of them were so clearly erroneous that I got upset that these people are actually doing patient care and are so misinformed.
As most of you know, I love this field and have devoted over 46 years to it. I would like to keep our discussions on relevant clinical and professional issues where we can all learn from each other. I want to nurture those who want to come into this profession and mentor the ones who are young in the field. Also, I am not afraid of controversy and welcome a good debate and I promise I will always support my arguments with the facts. But I have little patience or time for those who want to start a battle for their own personal reasons and if they do, they should be prepared to own up to their personal motivations.
Let the games begin.
