Hurst Review

Has anyone tried the Hurst Review Online? I have failed NCLEX three times and am considering this review.

Any thoughts?

Yes Hurst review makes it easier to study from for boards. Very important to study practice questions.

I took the Hurst review class.... and failed the NCLEX. I made B's in nursing school so I don't know what happened. I had a lot of delegation, priority, precautions, and many medications I have NEVER heard of. In my personal opionion.. Kaplan comes closer to the NCLEX questions. Just my opionion.

Good Luck!

I HIGHLY recommoed it. I took NCLEX 3 times and failed. Took the HUrst review LIVE course and passed on my 4th attempt!! Its AWESOMEEEEEEE! :)

I use both and recommend using all resources that help you to understand the content. I do 50 questions a day min. from Kaplan Q-Bank and I am watching all Hurst videos for the second round. I took the first Hurst NCLEX review test with 125 question and got 74/125 which tells me to watch the online videos again to help improve my score. I personally got more out of Hurst. Marlene is so entertaining and has a great teaching style. I only wish we had her as a teacher in nursing school. Bottom line on reviewing for NCLEX is Repetition, Repetition and Repetition :) Good luck!

I have heard very good things about the Hurst Review and we have not learned everything we need to know from school. I was planning on starting the it this week. I just watched the sample video and almost turned it off. The first woman to lecture, the one with big hair, has the most horrid accent. I could barely understand what she was saying. I was concentrating so hard and that accent was beyond distracting.

Can someone tell me how many lectures she does in the Hurst Review? I can't possibly listen to that woman and expect to retain anything. And why on earth would they have someone with such a massively think accent! They are trying to sell this program across the entire United States, aren't they?

^^Believe it or not, that woman with the big hair is the creator of the Hurst Review hah:

If you can't listen to southern accents, don't do the Hurst review because every lecture is given by someone with a southern accent.

They had about 5 people in the 5 minute intro video and two of them had accents but hers was so thick I couldn't even tell what she was saying or maybe my brain couldn't wrap my head around it. The other woman wasn't as bad.

One of my classmates recommended it and I am surprised she made it through. I am going to nursing school in Puerto Rico and I think a lot of my classmates would not understand some of these people in the videos.

beleive it or not you will get use to ms. marlene's southern accent....you might find yourself even imitating her accent. might help you to retain the info. hurst is a great review.....just do a search on allnurses. you'll find more positive posts than negative!

i actually watched it again and got a bit more out of it. i think i will end up getting used to it and i have heard good things. however i think some of my puerto rican classmates may think these women are speaking greek.did anyone get emailed that 50 usd off coupon code. i have emailed twice in over two weeks and got put into a voice mail today.

I purchased both Kaplan and Hurst. I am going back to Hurst because when I started Kaplan I got a 45% on the diagnostic test. I was really frustrated with it. I really have to learn content before I can get into Kaplan.Let's see how this progresses. I think the main thing is where you went to school and my school was awful. I am super super worried about NCLEX but all I can do is study. The only people that passed with 75 questions were the 4 students that graduated with a 4.0 and 2 people that had previous medical experience. Others passed with 145 questions, 160 questions, 2xx questions and everyone else has failed. The first 11 months of the program is the ADN and the last 10 months is the BSN. It was a second degree Bachelors program but people could take NCLEX after the first year so that is why so many people have taken it already.By the way a lot of people that failed did so with 75 questions which is a bad sign.Ok sorry for the vent. Just getting discouraged. But I have been doing 4 to 6 hours a day of studying so we'll see.

The lady that created the review has the big hair and can at least spell "Thick" with her Masters degree. Whatever you do, don't go to Texas, or any wear east of there because everyone has an accent and you won't survive.
