Is anyone doing the hurst review? I am doing the online version and this lady is hilarious. I am finding it helpful so far. Has anyone done the review and found it to be pretty good preparation for the NCLEX?
Thanks

Just started the Hurst online review yesterday. So far its AWESOME. Everything just clicks, I wish I had this in nursing school. And I agree, Marlene is so funny which makes it engaging. I'm graduating from nursing school this month so I don't know how well it prepares you for the nclex, but I did a ton of research on this site about it and the general consensus seems to be that the course is awesome prep for the actual exam. What's your study plan? I'm starting with videos that cover content areas that I feel that I am weak in. I want to do about 1 video a day making sure I know the content " without a doubt and hesitation "( which should take about 2 weeks ) and then spend the month of June doing questions from exam cram, PDA, Kaplan qtrainers/test bank, and possibly saunders. I don't have a date yet for the boards, but I'm thinking early July.
My plan is go over every video and do the practice tests. I have a Saunders book with cd that i will go over as well. However, as I've gone through nursing school I've used my Saunders to help review for tests so it's not like I've never looked at that thing. I feel overwhelmed as is so I will limit myself to Hurst and Saunders and cross my fingers (and toes) and hope for the best!
I would like to take the NCLEX in June if at all possible just to get it over with and move on with my life! Plus, the longer I work the floor as a Graduate Nurse the less likely I will be able to seperate "real world" from "textbook" for NCLEX questions.
Best of luck to you!!!
P.S. I totally wish Marlene was one of my instructors! It's like stand up comedy with nursing school combined.

I just enrolled into the online review a few days ago and enjoy it so far. Throwing in some humor makes the content easier to remember. In nursing school when ever I explained something and tried to make it interesting or entertaining most of my professors frowned upon it, so I appreciated Hurst doing this. Hopefully between this course, LaCharity P-D-A, Exam Cram, NCLEX 3500 (online link), Kaplan Stategies book, and Saunders for reference I can pass as I am a multi-time Nclex tester and being out of school for almost two years. Reading on this site is how I found out about LaCharity, Exam Cram, and Hurst. I plan on reviewing the content from Hurst until I know it "without a doubt or hesitation" and then taking my boards for the last time and passing! I work graveyard at a State Psychiatric Unit so most nights I can get through one section along with doing 50-100 questions, then I review the Hurst lecture again when i get home in the AM.

I took my NCLEX today, finished with 75 questions and I got the good popup... I have not got my official results yet.... but I studied with the Hurst Review videos and I think that they were the perfect review and Marlene kept me calm and gave me confidence in what I already knew. Hurst review is great to help you organize everything in your mind! Good luck!
Got my results yesterday and I passed!! I loved Hurst review.... obviously it doesnt take the place of studying... hard... for 2 years... but it was a wonderful review prior to NCLEX!!
