Hurst and then Kaplan

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello friends,

I have a quetion or advise to ask,

I failed my NCLEX on the first try and now are getting back in track of studying on weak areas and what not.

I noticed that i needed some content and also strategy, so i decided to do Hurst first all lectures to refresh and then Kaplan for question strategy to prepare to retake.

Can someone tell me if they have used the same strategy and if they have, has this worked for you ?

I just reviewed the Electrolyte and Fluids and Orthopedics because i am terrible in those, and i felt like i had forgotten so much ferom school already.

Anyway, after the review i felt like i understood so much more.

Thank you

I have to say, i am feeling very proud, some may say God doesnt work wonders, but my prayers are working, he has allowed me to stay calm and to recall when im troubled and i pretend to do the same when im taking the test.

What do you all think about this?

I know i scored befollow 60% oh Psych but weird, it was my first time bellow 60 on Psych never been, so i hope i can buff up on those and get a much better grade on qtrainer 4!

deimysd.vigil your motivating me! I have 3 chapters left from Kaplan strategy took then I will review Hurst notes and I will start answering the Kaplan Q trainers and Q banks.. your doing really good.. that's ok Psychosocial is like 9-12% on the exam and won't reflect on you during the exam just keep practicing.. GOOD JOB!

Hello everyone again,

Completing Qtrainer 4 was a challenge, alot of Application questions and Analysis, i found it very hard and was not motivated for some reason.

I started it yesterday and stopped at 75 questions. Took over today and quit my test at 115 questions with 35 answered :( I know who does that?

I did the math to see how badly i had done and honestly in one specific time i got all the questions from 40-55 right, and then some wrong and some right again.

I answered a total of 115 with 79 right and 36 wrong, did the math and that put me at a 68% with out of 86 Application questions 61 were right which a 70% on Application, Analysis out of 7 answered 5 were right which is a 71%.

I know I didnt take the whole, i was just so discouraged and kept thinking every answer was probably wrong and i was wrong :( I cannot let that happen to me again.

I was actually doing really good! I have never gotten 15 questions right on a row, that is amazing! I hope i can perform tat well on the NCLEX!

I am glad i am motivating you , it looks like i needed some of that motivation today and yesterday.

deimysd.vigil great score again! I didn't start my Qtrainers yet probably next week.. 70% that's amazing.. try to use the Kaplan decision tree in Application & Analyzing questions it works!! Do not overlook questions you know so much and stay confident in picking answer and when you submit the answer do not think about it move forward!!

Thank you for the encouragement!

deimysd.vigil Confidence is the key!! I am going to do something different.. I will listen all med surg Hurst videos again and review them then do all the Qbanks for physiological then I"ll do same for the Psychosocial and Health Promotion and Infection. Then I will do the Qtrainers at the end to know how much I am approved! hope this works for me!

Alright allnurses friends, here i am , i just took Qtrainer 5. That was much harder than 4 i believe, it asl took me all day because my kids were off school.

Anyway, I got a 60.7% with a 63.2 on Application and 63.1 on Analysis.

the score got way lower and that scares me, so i am going to listen to all my recorded notes for the next 4 days and then take qtrainer 6.

I have pretty one week away :( getting the jitters

deimysd.vigil the score still above passing my grade were 40 and 50 before your still doing great!! stay positive & calm.. I am listening to videos too now! I still got one month left of studying. Keep me updated. Good luck!!
