Hurst? Kaplan? OR Both?

Our instructors are practically insisting that we take both Hurst AND Kaplan review sessions upon graduation. (While at the same time maintaining that it is optional that we do them) (To opt out we have to go have an entire meeting about how we don't need to opt out and list all the reasons we don't want to participate)

I want to do Hurst Live Review and am already signed up for that one.

But I am currently set up for a meeting with the head of my program to opt out of Kaplan review.

Please tell me your thoughts on these review programs.

Because I see people complaining frequently that they see things on NCLEX they've never heard of before, I also wanted to say - read the question and understand what the question is asking. I had a few with procedures or conditions that I haven't heard of, however you didn't have to know what those were exactly to answer the question. It's usually enough to just understand what system is involved in this condition or whether the procedure is a surgery etc. Some of this can become obvious from context also. So just read the question and answer choices attentively and understand what is being asked. In this regard Kaplan helped me.

  • UPDATE : I have been using Kaplan since I posted this. I do not recommend Kaplan. I would recommend skipping Kaplan; I wish I had.

Damn, sorry you went with Kaplan. Kaplan is a review course that is not good for people who need a core content review. Good luck, try other sources as well such as Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN, NCLEX 4000, and RN mastery app.
