Humber General Arts and Science

Published

Hi everyone!

I just got accepted into Humber's General arts and science program! I'm excited/nervous about it. Does anyone know what the program is like? They told me the minimum mark they accepted this year to get into the RN program was 80%, I'm just wondering if that is really tough to get? 2 years ago I finished school for Registered Massage Therapy and my average was 86% and I already have a good base of the health sciences, but I didn't take any math or english which in the past have found rather tough.

Anyways, I was just interested in hearing any opinions on the program!

Thanks :)

I am planning to take the program next year ( Sept 2012 ). How is the program so far?

It's going good so far, it can get pretty busy, but if you focus you can get through it no problem. My lowest grade so far has been 81% however many people aren't doing very well so you just have to really dedicate yourself. All the teachers are awesome and really care about the students. Let me know if you have anymore questions! I'd be happy to help :)

Thats Great! So the course work is not to difficult ? I figured it would be just a review from high school, but I can't believe many people are not doing so well.

Yeah a lot of a review from highschool, but I didn't do very well in highschool and it's been a while. There is quite a lot of work though, I've been really busy, but just not too difficult. The reason a lot of people aren't doing well is because they are skipping classes and not doing the homework/studying. As long as you stay dedicated to it, you'll be fine.

Well this is my last year of high school, but the only reason I am taking the program is because I did not take the required courses to get into the RN program but thanks so much ! I have been looking for the longest time for someone to answer my questions. I am not worrying to much about it, I just wanted to know if the program will greater my chances of getting into the RN program at Humber.

Yeah it will for sure! Good luck :)

Oh I forgot ! How was the admission test?

It's not very hard, you have to write an essay and for math it's all pretty basic. fractions, decimals, percents and conversions for the most part. There is bio and chem but they don't count it toward your acceptance they just want to know what everyone's knowledge going into the program is.

Hello again BosRMT,

I applied to the General Arts and Science Program :) How is the program going so far and did you apply to the BN program yet?

Hey!

The program is going good so far. My average is 93%, so it just proves all you have to do it try. :) I haven't applied yet. I need to figure out how to add this year onto my application. I'm not very good with computers lol.

I hope you enjoy next year! Hope to see you around :)
