My advisor finally got around to doing my transcripts and said I need human growth and development? WHAT? Didn't we do this in our first year of nursing? This is her response when I sadi 'what'!
"Everyone needs a Growth/Development course separate from nursing applications" Did anyone have to do this? Never heard anyone mention this?

Growth and Development is part of Nursing, but in both my ASN and now in the BSN, it is an individual requirement as well.

I took Human Growth and Development last fall before my DARS with OU was complete. As luck would have it, I ended up getting credit on my DARS for Human Growth and Development from a class I took nearly 20 years ago. So, I am doubly covered in that area now.
But to answer your question: It is required separately from any other nursing classes and is usually an upper level Psych class at most Universities. I found it to be quite boring since it really seemed to be obvious and logical that toddlers have different development from geriatrics!
