Human Development and A&P II in a semester is this EXTREME???

Published

Hi everyone I'm considering taking theses two courses A&P II & Human Development at once in a semester but I would like your input on the course load for those who has already taken the classes and know what is expected. Thank you for giving me some clarity.

Thanks Stephalump, any input on the actual class?

Mmmm, A&P is obviously time-consuming, but I don't remember being at all challenged by Human Development. Just simple read and regurgitate kind of thing. Very, very basic lower level psych. Totally doable.

I am currently taking Human Growth and Development for summer along with a prep-math, and Humanities class. It has been super easy and I have online courses which means more work than a normal classroom. Good luck and you will be fine!

Thanks Izonme, I appreciate your words of encouragement. Being this is my first experience with those classes I wanted to make sure I was pairing them correctly for successful completion!

Stephalump thanks again!

I took Human Growth and Development last summer and it was not all that challenging. I am currently in A&P II and it is taking a lot of study time. But, if it is a regular semester, I do not think that it would be too much. The last few chapters will actually overlap a bit.

I found APII easier than API and Human Dev was cake... But in the end it depends most on your school and teachers. I found creating and redrawing flow charts of which hormone goes where and causes what (which then goes somewhere else and does something else that then feeds back....) to be the best way to learn. And google image searches are great for histology.

I say go for it!:)

I definitely think you should go for it. Nursing school is going to be extremely challenging so there is no reason why you shouldn't start pushing yourself now. That way you hopefully won't be too shocked once you get there. Good luck. =)

I don't think it'll be a problem. I usually took three classes per quarter (so I had to cram even more in since we had short sessions). I had no issues maintaining A's -- and I worked full time... and cared for my young child. You'll be fine.

Agreed. I found Human Development to be one of the easiest pre-reqs I took.

I didn't take A&P II with Human Development but I didn't find Human Development hard at all. I would have taken them both together if I had to.

I took A&P II with an Ethics class (which was much more time consuming than Human Development only due to the insane amount of papers my professor assigned) and I didn't find that I didn't have enough time for A&P II, I got an A in Ethics and a B+ in A&P II. Want to add, I work full time and have a hubby and 2 children at home and I still had plenty of time to concentrate on A&P II.

Agree with the people above human development was an "easy A", you will have to devote very little time to that class I am sure. The A&P 2 will take up your studying time, and personally I found A&P 2 to be easier than A&P 1. We had far less chapters covered in A&P 2, so you could check that out and see if your school is the same. Good luck!
