HUGE scrubs!

Alright....my CNA class starts this Monday, so I went out and got a couple pairs of scrubs, both were size Small pants and shirt. The pants are really big for me, but they're drawstring so they aren't too bad. The shirt on the other hand, is HUGE! :uhoh3: I look like I'm swimming in it. I'm very very petite and small-boned...I'm average height (5'5-5'6). I know that scrubs aren't supposed to be tight fitting, but are they really supposed to be this baggy? Is there a website with scrubs that are X-small? I bought mine at WalMart and they only had sizes S, M, L, & XL. Thanks in advance!

I too have noticed that unisex tie scrub pants tend to run HUGE in size. All of these sites should carry smaller sizes. Make sure to check out the size charts because every brand sizes their scrubs a little differently

Thanks a bunch!

I have the same problem (5'2" and 115lbs), but last week I found that Cherokee makes size XXS Petite for the same price as the other scrubs, and they fit GREAT. I would definitely look into those.

This is kinda funny since there are thousands of nurses that wish they were in your shoes! Seriously now, I have been in the extra small scrubs to the large scrubs, and all the places in between! When I wore extra small size, I had to prove to people that I weighed as much as I said I did, got on the scale, etc. They always thought I weighed less. Even now (currently in the med scrubs, fit fairly loose) I still have to prove how much I weigh, and I weigh 148!. I am fine boned and normally quite petite, if I ever see that size again! When I get those extra smalls out I can't believe I wore them! After my sis died I gained 49 pounds! That was in 2001 and I'm STILL working on losing it, but I am getting there! The Cherokee (sp?) brand has extra small. They work well for me in all their sizes. I do have alot of problems with scrub tops in general. I have small shoulders, narrow torso, no chest (hope ya'all will still talk to me!!). The tops always seem too low cut, big in the shoulders, etc. Wal-Mart scrubs have NEVER worked for me. Well, don't know if this helps but I sure feel better!!!

Yeah the Walmart scrubs fit horrible, but they were cheap! LOL. Nurseabovebroad- I have the same problem! Tiny shoulders, long torso, and small chest...:chair:

I ordered an XS scrub top the other day online, so hopefully it will fit a little better. Thanks again everyone. :)

Yeah, but I got hips, darn it!!! If it fits in the hips, it's too big in the waist, fits in the shoulders, too tight on the hips. I produced a daughter who is almost perfectly proportioned however! Amazing! Well, goodnight to all!

I know this was an older thread but I wanted to say thanks to the contributors. I learned: 1. Don't shop for scrubs at Walmart and 2. We're all built the same -- uniquely!!:yeah: As a side note/question -- have any of you smaller, more petite ladies have any trouble with your job duties due to your size??

MrsRaisin,

I'm not sure what you're asking, but I'm petite and I have a lot of problems transferring people and lifing them. I always need to get someome to help me. :chair: Hopefully I'll become better at it with practice! I need to start lifting some weights....my arms are tiny. :lol2:

Until a few months ago, I was 5'4 and 110......I know what you mean. I bought small but always wore a tank top under just in case I raised my arms or bent over and show off the twins.....lol

I now can barely squeeze into a small.......my last semester was a killer and I gained so much weight. Time to lose it!!

Thanks, DreamyEyes. That's what I was asking. It was a nice way of saying "I'm wimpy!!" LOL I'm concerned about having trouble transferring people (I start classes Sept. 10). Guess I'll have to get in the gym. Where do you work? We can team up!
