HRSA 2021-2022

I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?

Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

You will get a one time payment with your initial lump sum that is separate from tuition and the stipend. That’s meant to cover things like scrubs, books, and anything other school related out of pocket expense that you may incur including health insurance if you get it thru the school.

That’s extremely helpful! Thank you. Even tho they countersigned I’m still worried because my status hasn’t changed yet to participant.

Congratulations!! Out of curiosity how long did it take to change after the counter signature?

Mine was counter-signed on September 1st and I just got the email 41 minutes ago that I was selected. So three weeks but they have to let people know this week if they have been selected so I would anticipate everyone to know in the next couple of days!

That’s great information Millie!! Congratulations once again. I was told that a counter signature is almost guaranteed! I’m just still crossing my fingers…wish me luck ?!  Good luck to you as well!

Thank you! I am rooting for you and everyone here who truly needs that money. Yes, my program started two weeks ago but I took a private loan to finance it (with a huge interest rate) so now have to figure out how to cancel that and when this scholarship money kicks in -- it'll be another headache but I'd rather so much have it than not LOL

It’s always something isn’t it but I would much rather be in that boat LOL! My program starts oct 6, which is why I’m worried. I  took Summer classes but those were only prerequisites. I was told by nurse corps not to worry because everyone schools fall quarter starts at different times in which my nursing cohort starts oct 6.  I was countersigned sep 14 though.  Is a counter signature almost a guarantee?

Same as Millie. I got my signature on the first and got my award email at midnight!
