I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?
Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

My EFC was 0 and I was notified a few days ago that I received the award.

Yes, very grateful. Contract cosigned 8/24, email notification on 8/26, 2nd email inviting me to become a participant rather than applicant and webinar info 8/27. Hang in there everyone, this is a rolling process it seems!! People are still being notified!

When did you get your initial offer for the scholarship?

I'm really sorry to hear this! This scholarship is probably a once-in-a-lifetime event! Please don't take this the wrong way because I completely understand that some people get into nursing school with no way to pay except through scholarships, but, there is no guarantee that you would get this scholarship again. There are lots of worthy individuals for this award. I'm sure they had more applicants this year than last year due to the pandemic. It would be a little unfair to offer someone the scholarship twice in a row when there are other worthy applicants that are still waiting.
Are you currently in school now? Did you end up figuring out how to pay? That is definitely a downside to this scholarship because they take forever to tell you if you got it or not, especially after your bill is due! I don't know of any schools that begin their fall semester after September 30th. The perk is that everything is back paid so it probably would have benefitted to take this scholarship last year... just saying. But again, I completely understand that some people are unable to take out loans and cosign, but there are federal loan options available for some of it!
I hope you got into school this year and are able to pay for some it. Hopefully, you hear back soon! That would be a blessing if you got it twice in a row!
