I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?

Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

Does anyone think that our wait to hear back may be extended since last year the scholarship deadline was may 8th and ours was extended to may 26th? The waiting game is stressing me out. I haven’t checked my email this much since waiting to get accepted into nursing school.

Same. I get email notifications on my phone and yet I am still going to my inbox hoping to see something, just ridiculous ?

I think that is very possible because the deadline was extended out quite a bit. Also, I went over last year's thread and finalist emails started on July 16th not the 15th.

Hey all just read through last years thread And someone mentioned they they (2020 cohort) heard back earlier than years pervious by 3-4 weeks. I too was hold my breath for July 15th so, just in case this calms anyone for a minute here ya go.

Waiting to get accepted into nursing school was enough stress  for me ? I’m just chillin trying to forget about it LOL 

is it safe to assume we will hear something by August 1st?

I’m also on pins and needles waiting. I know we’re all struggling, I wish higher education wasn’t so expensive!

Just curious if anyone is familiar with the terms of the scholarship? I was trying to look on their website to see where we would be allowed to work and it seemed like you can’t work at hospitals, only small clinics which require at least one year experience.

I’ve heard that your first year after you graduate you still don’t really know much and usually learn on the job and since you can’t work at hospitals which have new grad residency programs how do we get the training necessary? I definitely need this scholarship but I’m just a little worried about their terms and where we’re allowed to work and if it will be difficult getting jobs at those places as a new grad?
