Hello all,

I'm starting this thread for the new applicants for the hrsa nursing scholarship 09-10. Tor prettylady, I think its a random selection. Its the luck of the draw.

this waiting is horrible!!!I don't even know what to do anymore! I just want to roll over my admission to next year because I can't get the money to go, but on the the other hand I might get this scholarship so I still have to proceed as if I'm going to start my program on sept 21 by getting uniforms, immunizations, backround checks etc. Basically on sept 21 I don't know If I will be in nursing school that day or working at my job. I'm going crazy!!!!

I tried logging into the system about a week ago, and my account had been locked. When I called, rep said that selections had already been made and that scholarship recipients would be notified by the end of the month. I don't think it's a good sign..:(

Im going crazy too... i had to take out two loans just to pay some of my tuition... have hope ... u'll get it!! stay positive cause in the end that is all u really have...:coollook:

my heart goes out to all of you!!! I remember the feeling of waiting. I started my program on a wing and a prayer (9,000 per term) but believed I would receive the scholarship. Hang in there God will answer all of your prayers in his own way and time!:nurse:

mine is not locked, and the link to change your info is still active. the bulletin said when selections are made they disable that link. im confused. which number did you call when they told you selections were made?

i just talked to a rep at HRSA and he said that they are STILL IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING SELECTIONS. we need to all remain calm and not assume we got it or didnt get until we are notified by mail. the rep said it should be before sept 30, but it wouldnt be after that. hand in there everyone.

simplelife4me: when did you get notified and was it by mail?

I believe It was Sept. 15th. I was the first one notified. Everyone else received their notification in a email first, then the letter. I don't know why but the process seems to change every year. I know the wait is the hardest part but I don't think you will be able to tell whether you received it or not until notifications are given. Even then don't give up because some people were notified later then others. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

I'm at peace about the scholarship and can't wait to get my award letter (LOL...just speakin it into being) however I'm curious about how they award you. Do they deposit the money right away into your account and you pay the school or do they pay the school for your tuition? How does the tuition and money situation work?:saint:

I can still login to the system and my status hasn't changed. Are you sure you were logging into the NSP and not the NELRP?
