Hello all,
I'm starting this thread for the new applicants for the hrsa nursing scholarship 09-10. Tor prettylady, I think its a random selection. Its the luck of the draw.

I think the ppl who answer the phones aren't all that informed. They give the generic answers to keep you pacified and off the phone lines. Don't worry--I think more ppl will get awards.

I just called them and the guy said they have not awarded anyone yet and that they will Prob do it this weekend.
Deevee, really this weekend? I didn't know govt workers work on the weekend.
Also, isn't it interesting how we get different responses ea time someone phones?
Yup that's what he said. I felt like he was just guessomg though.

I'm confued...I was one of the few who got the email on Tuesday, asking me to respond with a "yes" or "no". BUT, I have not gotten any final word of acceptance. The email that I did recieve makes me hopeful, but it did, however, explicitly state that it still was not a guarantee of being awarded.
Has anyone who got the email on Tuesday gotten anymore coorespondance from HRSA????????
I'm crossing my fingers for all of us!!!!
I am pretty sure they say "not a guarantee" because after your acceptance there are steps like credit checks and verifying school records/acceptance that need to be done, so it just covers them if for some reason they have to deny you.
Yeah, I understand this. I'm just wondering if anyone who got that email has gotten their "final" acceptance yet, or maybe any additional correspondance. Anyone, anyone, anyone?

Hi,
I also got the email tuesday and faxed in my response. I have yet to hear back. I don't know if this has been asked already but I was wondering what qualifies as "In exchange for at least two years service at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses". How do you find out which facilities qualify?
Thanks
