HPSP 2017

Just curious who all applied for the Health Professionals Scholarship Program for the VA and if you've heard anything yet. I know it's early...mine is still shown as "received." Also, anyone that has done it or is in it that wouldn't mind sharing their thoughts on their experience. Thanks!

What happens after referral?

Can you give me the thread of which this thread was moved too?

I'm also curious what happens after referral? Are there people who receive referrals but don't get selected for the scholarship?

What do you mean about referral? Did you get an email or is it just a change in status on the online portal?

Also, I apologize I can't reply to PMs yet..working on my 15 posts!

I applied to the HPSP and received an email that my application was referred. The status of my application changed on the website to "Referred" as well.

Scott Dixon said that they are waiting to see if the program is approved for a graduation year of 2020, though. So no decisions are made until they know about that program extension. I am just wondering how far along "Referred" is in the process.

I have applied for this years HPSP nursing scholarship and was curious as to why some of you did not receive it. Why do you think you were not chosen?

The status of my application changed to "referred" as well. I also graduate in 2020 but did not hear about waiting for an approval of a program extension. Yikes! Looks like we won't find out for another month and a half or so judging from last years thread.

Yeah, the wait is so hard! I am hoping to hear as soon as possible but Scott said, "no later than July" when I originally asked. At least it is a realistic period! It seems they tried to do them earlier before but had trouble meeting their estimated decision deadlines. So it seems like late June is likely. Can I ask what degree you are going for and any specialty if applicable? =)

I start an ADN program in the fall!

I start my nursing program in the fall as well and graduating December 2019. I do not know if am going to make the cut because, the white paper stated graduation class on summer will be first looked at.

We can always apply again next year!

Hi All:

By the Grace of God, I was just notified today that I was selected for the scholarship. I am very excited for the opportunity.
