Nursing Students School Programs

Just curious who all applied for the Health Professionals Scholarship Program for the VA and if you've heard anything yet. I know it's early...mine is still shown as "received." Also, anyone that has done it or is in it that wouldn't mind sharing their thoughts on their experience. Thanks!

Hello all, I know that I'm late to the party, but I have also applied for the hpsp. I'm sorry to hear that @ABBY8890 was not selected. Do not be discouraged, something else is in store for you. After reading through the post, I can tell that I am not alone in the situation. I truly hope we can hear back from them this week. And remember, "no news is good news until you actually have news." So let us not unnecessarily raise our cortisol levels about the unknown or something that we have no control over.

Also if anyone hears anything, please post that you have been notified. Just to give some us comfort about when they are actually notifying students. Thanks!

I emailed Mr. Dixon he said the selection committee would be making a decision at the end of this week and he will know more early next week.

Hello, I'd like to apply for the upcoming cycle and am a little confused. Is the HPSP program separate from the VA Nursing Academic Partnership program? It looks like it is but the link from the VA's website is to the application for the academic partnership program.

Hi! They are separate programs--VANAP should be through your college or university, while HPSP is a separate national scholarship program. At my school, there are 24 in VANAP, and about 5 are also HPSP in addition to VANAP. Happy to answer more detailed questions over PM :)
