How's everyone's fall semester going?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Soooo, now that we are knee-deep in fall 2011, how's everyone feeling? I'm taking A&P II, Nutrition, Spanish I and College Algebra (:uhoh3:). I think except for the math, I'm kicking buttinski.

Anyone else?

Tough. This is my first semester back since 2007. In 2007 I was single, not a worry in the world. Now I have a home, a husband, and two children under two! WOW what a difference!!

Composition & Rhetoric - A

Music Theory - A

Microbiology - B

Microbiology Lab - B

Advanced College Algebra - C

Not absolutely thrilled with the algebra grade, but I'll take it.

Im only taking A&P1 this semester...its freaken hard!!! I have 3 young children so finding enough time to study for this class is pretty difficult (even with a super supportive hubby). So far I have an 95 in the class but only bc I have gotten A's on extra credit and all my lab assignments. Ive gotten mostly B's on all my quizes (which I have 2 every week, sometimes 3). I just had my first lab quiz which went good...get my grade back Monday. I also have my first exam on Monday. Im really nervous and stressing about it...like someone else mentioned, the entire exam is based on critical thinking. Basically there is one wrong answers and you got to figure out the right one out of the other 3. I dont know why, but I panic with critical thinking questions. Its like everything I know leaves me my brain instantaneously. It doesnt help that my instructor already warned the class that students usually do very poorly on this exam! :( Sigh. So, right now I feel like Im barely keeping my head above water and we are just getting into the nitty gritty of it all. Good luck to everyone!!

Mattl how are you able to maintain all of those classes? You're doing a great job. :) good luck to you.

I got grades for Intro to Psyc, Dev Psyc, A&P II practical, and a Micro quiz. All A's fortunately.

Hey, kudos to the posters that are married and/or have children.

My semester is going very well. I'm taking Nutrition, American Fed. Gov't, and Psychology. I have great teachers in my Nutrition & Fed. Gov't classes, and the classes are enjoyable. However, my teacher doesn't really teach the scientific part of Nutrition, such as how the body absorbs nutrients and the different classes of nutrients. I mean, she skims over them, but she mainly teaches us to memorize random things about them instead of teaching us how they interact as a whole.

Taking Bio 100 this fall (a pre-req for A & P). We've had a handfull of tests and quizzes already and feeling very good about this class. :)

Specializes in Obstetrics, Women's Health.

University Chemistry is ruining my life. I have a D right now, and trying to pull it on up. :(

Pretty yummy. Got my first A&P lab quiz back with an A.

I'm glad so many of us are doing fairly well and wish the best of luck to everyone for the rest of the semester!

I'm doing so much greater than I felt I would. I remember being nervous on the 1st day of the semester because I had been out of a classroom setting for about 6 years. That faded so quickly! I was so stoked to be in a classroom again. It was great, and I still enjoy it!

Grades. What can I say? I'm doing well! A lot better than I expected. I don't know where I've developed the study skills, but man are they a beast! I've made one C on a Psych exam...other than that, all of my grades have been 85+ with the majority of A's. I'm a happy fall semester camper!

I'm taking Psych and A&P I! These are the last of my pre-reqs for the program! I'm in acceleration mode and I don't see anything slowing down any time soon! I have the PSB coming up this Thursday or Friday as well! That's nerve-racking in itself, but I can't wait to get it over and done with, honestly! I've put too much stress into prepping for this exam...there's no way I could be more prepared...either I know the material that may show up on the test, or I don't - that's the way it has to be, in order for me to finally get the nerve to take it...and I'm there!

Great job everyone, and good luck! :)

One more month and the semester will be over. Almost can't believe it. After reading so many stories about A&P prior to signing up, I'm surprised how interesting it is.

My prof decided to step it up a notch, so I now have 3 chapters due in 2 days. Ah, joy. The bones leave me dry.:grn:

I hope everyone's having a great semester.

one word for this semester: ugh! unfortunately this has been the roughest semester for me. i'm taking a&p 2 and gen psyc. for some reason, this semester i am having such a hard time directing my attention solely to school work and studying. i recently got a new job (same company) and it seems between balancing a new job and school work, its taking a toll on me. i work full time, live on my own, and am trying to balance everything...not that thats an excuse, but i just feel super exhausted this semester. anyone else having/had a semester like this? if so, how did you get through it? any strategies i could use to help motivate my attention to school work or just to get through this phase i'm in? thanks for your help!

on the other hand, i'm glad most of you guys are having an awesome semester! keep up the good work :yeah: its a difficult path we chose to go down, but its all worth it in the end!

I'm so ready for this semester to be over! One month, baby!
